Breaking news: Bob McNair gives O'Brien, and Rick Smith a five year extension! O'Brien immediately thanks his boss and announces Brian Hoyer his starting QB for next season!

Well the mistake was thinking he could guru those guys into good QBs when there were some good guys available in the draft

Remember that meeting that O'brien had with his coaches they filmed in the first episode of Hard Knocks? The one where he talked about how nobody in the NFL respects the Texans organization?

Yeah.....Bill. You just cemented and confirmed that lack of respect today.

We knew from the jump that the qb situation would hurt us. I thought Bob got the most out of the talent available. Not sure Weeden would have been better, but he should have been given the opportunity after that awful goaline pick.

The mistake was made coming into the season, not today. Weedon wasn't gonna do anything. BOB has done a really good job coaching this team. His profound arrogance in thinking he could win with anybody at QB is udercutting everything else.

People are stupid and reactionary always wanting to fire coaches these days. Giving him the boot 2 years (both winning seasons) after taking over a 2-14 team is preposterous. Having said that if we end next season and still have no clue who our QB is then I may feel differently.

Looks to me like O'Brien let Hoyer dig his own grave tonight for whatever it's worth.

Sadly, this is the logic employed by all the mouth breathers clamoring for Weeden. You know, who your backup is actually goes into the decision making process in this situation. It's actually a pretty important consideration believe it or not.

Good idea Brian. Don't want to be hasty and just assume 4 picks and a fumble hurt the team. Watch the film to see if it actually DID hurt the team.

Watch film? For what? Next week's game? I don't see him being the QB here next season, so it's not like a film session is gonna matter much.

To be fair I've found listening to statements instead of reading them the connotation can be completely different. Like here he could have been saying it sarcastically, or he could have just randomly thrown in a think even though he knew it was clearly true.

In any case, Houer sucks, the sky is blue

Hurting the team is missing some throws. What Hoyer did, annihilated the team.

The only way he should be able watch the film is if his wife recorded. Noway the doors aren't locked behind him.
