DOOMED ___ HD DVD versus Blu-ray - The p*rn industry says HD DVD Las Vegas (NV) - Knowing their audience quite well, the adult entertainment industry holds their annual get together in Las Vegas to coincide with the CES. There is also a very pertinent crossover between the adult and tech industries - p*rn has a tendency to drive, and be driven, by technology. Which means HD DVD when it comes to high-def. Quite famously in the war between Betamax and VHS the latter won especially because the adult industry preferred it. If you've been around long enough, you probably remember that the very early home video rental stores were primarily responsible for driving Betamax out of the market. its not just the purchasing of but also rentals. i would be curious enough to rent a hd-dvd p*rn to see how it looks. maybe i just would throw up since i would be able to clearly see all the surgery scars, botox and makeup. either way it may not have the ramifications of vhs and betamax but it will cause a problem for blu-ray
I thought some p*rn companies picked bluray already. Actually Im sure of it. I just dont care enough look.

you guys can have p*rn, blu-ray can have disney, columbia, sony pictures, all of the other major movie corps. Also, Universal, the only big-time HD-DVD backer has nothing to say about HD-DVD even during CES.
I know that the p*rn industry still makes gobs of money, but is most of that Internet? With the kind of cash it pulls in it would seem that there still has to be an important market for actual video (not downloadable). I'm sure there are some p*rn experts out there that could tell us.
