I have heard serois rumors in which the blazers send brian grant and either a throw in or maybe future considerations, etc. to the cavs for SHAWN KEMP! No joke, im dead serious. This trade will most likely go through since the cavs like BRian Gant so much and are tired of Kemp's weight problems. Here is portland's lineup. They probably will trade jremaine oneal also. C Kemp-because of his weight, he can play center PF-Sheed SF-Pippen Sg-STeve Smith PG- Damon Stoudimire Bench Highlights: Bonzi Wells Detlef Shremph Oneal or wutever they get for him Eric Barkley Sabonis Pretty good eh? Lakers hav a little compition now. Everyone on that team can hit the 3 ball (that includes all big guys like sabonis, detleph shremph,Oneal if he stays, and kemp) and everyone on that team has been a leader and a star player in either colleg or HS at one point in their career ( or HS in Oneal's case). Also, everyone on that team can take their man 1 on 1 and everyone on that team is very matured in this point in their career ( with the exception of oneal who they will trade for something good like fizer,etc.). All I have to say is..wow! ------------------ "There are two rules for success... 1) Never tell everything you know."
So they trade Grant for Kemp, and they're that much better? ------------------ Going for the Rolls Royce! visit www.swirve.com
or the great WIng-spanned One, Ewing. Get that guy out there before his body falls all the way apart and they've got a better chance. I don't think Kemp starting at C would improve the Balzers that much. ------------------ i'm on your case i'm in your face put you and your father back in place step off sucker understand don't you know that I'm The Man
Ah, how quickly we forget the reason that Seattle hasn't done jack **** since 1997... ------------------ WE WILL WATCH THEM FALL... Next year
I think it had more to do with Dale Ellis leaving then Kemp (Damn, that hurt writing Ellis's name) ------------------ "Your not a real member of CC.net unless you have 1000 posts"
Bob*, in the unlikely event that you're not being sarcastic, Ellis left before their '96 season when they made the Finals. He didn't come back until after the Sonics replaced Reignman with soft Vin Baker. ------------------ WE WILL WATCH THEM FALL... Next year
oops, I forgot my smiley face on that post Dale Ellis=Rocket Killer ------------------ "Your not a real member of CC.net unless you have 1000 posts"
Ok, gotcha. Sorry about that. That whole franchise pre-1997= Rockets killers ------------------ WE WILL WATCH THEM FALL... Next year [This message has been edited by AntiSonic (edited August 02, 2000).]
I can't really imagine Kemp playing center. For that reason, I don't see much reason for the Blazers to make that trade, with Wallace still one of the better PFs in the league. ------------------ Jazzkiller
Kemp shouldn't play center, Wallace should. Oh, and they need a new coach too. ------------------ "I'm real sorry bout the shape I'm in I just like my fun every now and then"
Kemp is not a center, and would not be nearly as effective playing one. He would basically fill in for Grant's role and split time at the 4 with Wallace. The Blazers might be better off with the Ewing deal, if its even serious. Azim da Dream ------------------ We don't live for the destination. We live for the journey.
well here's wut happened- the trade was agreed by everyone except Brian Grant, and therefore it doesn't go through. Apparently, Grant doesn't wanna be a Cav ------------------ "There are two rules for success... 1) Never tell everything you know."
He probably still has his heart set on "New York, New York". The Cleveland offer will probably still be available in Sept if the Knicks can't cook up a deal to get him by then. How many other teams are willing to take on Kemp's contract? Mango ------------------ 1. Put new topics in the proper forum 2. Use clear wording for new threads 3. No duplicate threads 4. I read that if Grant doesnt agree to the Cavs trade that the Blazers are going to trade him to the Cavs as soon as possible on Dec 15th anyways. ------------------ "I have amazing, powers of observation"...Pink
Dreamshake, Is it on the 'net and do you have a link? He would have to resign a contract with the Blazers and with free agency options (for a fat contract) about gone, time is running out for him. Why is Portland so crazy for Kemp? Doesn't add enoough defensively to keep Damon on the floor longer. Can't say he is the clutch player to take the big shots at the end of the game which Portland lacked against LA. Mango ------------------ 1. Put new topics in the proper forum 2. Mango- These are the reasons why portland is so crazy about Kemp as opposed to haveing grant. 1.The blazer's GM was the GM in seattle during the Kemp-Payton Era and was a HUGE kemp fan. He even drafted kamp himself and has liked Kemp all these years. 2.Lets face it-Brian Grant aint gonna stop Shaq any timme soon. SHAQ is the reason why they lost that series. Kemp is a lot taller and larger(urr..fatter) then Brian Grant and can defend Shaq better then Grant can. 3.You're forgetting that Kemp is not that old. He's only 30, and even though he put on some weight during the strike, is still quick, agile and still can shoot from 3 pt land. No way will he be the player he was in Seattle, but he still will be a VERY good player in portland. He'll get a new chance and won't have all the pressure on him like in Cleveland. ------------------ "There are two rules for success... 1) Never tell everything you know."
