wait...are they going to pay Tilman in Crypto?? @moestavern19 and @Yung-T (do you like these guys? And what does "via AntPool" mean) seriously though, better than a Bank as a sponsor...amirite? This actually seems brilliant by Tilman and Bitmain, since casinos probably need to (want to) promote the cryto currency train, so a natural partnership, with NBA betting soon.
Hmm, Bitmain is a Chinese company. They seem evil to the general good of Crypto, achieving dominance as a miner who developed the ASIC chips. Bitmain Technologies Ltd., or Bitmain, is a privately owned company headquartered in Beijing, China, with offices in Shenzhen, Shanghai, Chengdu, Hong Kong, Fuzhou, US, Israel, Netherlands and Switzerland. They are a bitcoin miner and designer of ASIC chips.[1] The company also operates Antpool, historically one of the largest bitcoin mining pools.[2] Bitmain is allegedly highly profitable; analysts estimated that in 2017 the company generated $3-4 billion in profit.[3] However, the company has been criticised because of its dominance over cryptocurrency mining, a position at odds with the principle of decentralisation.[4] Why do they say "via AntPool." Will they use AntPool as the logo, instead, as one of their brands. which one do you prefer?
Did Leslie Alexander come back as owner? Did I miss that? I hate the jersey ad trends. I wish, if anything, the ads were placed on the back of the uniforms. Iconic jerseys look hideous now.
hp - to clarify one point, Bitmain designs ASICs for their crypto-mining application. They did not develop the ASIC standards. ASICs have been around for a long time and are used in many applications, most notably Cisco network equipment (routers, switches, etc.).
The Houston Rockets Are Going Crypto, Partner with the Largest Bitcoin Mining Company in the World Bitmain Technologies-owned AntPool has announced that it will be an official partner of the Houston Rockets for the 2018-2019 season HOUSTON, Texas – September 19, 2018 – AntPool, one of the world’s leading crypto currency and Bitcoin mining companies, announced that it is an official sponsor of the Houston Rockets for the 2018-2019 NBA season. This landmark partnership follows the China-based company’s recent announcement that is has chosen Houston as the destination for U.S. expansion, further solidifying the path for cryptocurrencies to go more consumer. “As far as professional sports teams go, the Houston Rockets are legendary across the globe and what better way to continue the momentum of our U.S. expansion than partnering with the prolific Houston Rockets basketball club, the No. 1 team in China,” said Haijiao Li, AntPool Overseas Operations Manger. “As the crypto currency industry around the globe continues to evolve and develop, it is going to be more and more important for companies like AntPool to lead the conversation and conversion of consumers to adopt and understand digital currencies. It is an exciting time, and we welcome Rockets fans and those traveling to Houston to visit our showcase at Toyota Center and learn more about the technology that will change the world.” The partnership will include an AntPool exhibition inside Toyota Center, launching on January 19, 2019. “We’re excited to work with AntPool as a conduit in the U.S. for their ever-growing business,” said Rockets Vice President of Corporate Development John Croley. “The Rockets are always looking to stay ahead of the curve with technology both on and off the court and AntPool’s prowess with crypto currency makes for a great partnership.” Earlier this month, AntPool announced that it would be making its first U.S expansion in Houston to further strengthen its client base while also educating consumers about mining technology. The rapid population growth, strong economy and business-friendly regulations are a couple of many reasons why Houston and Texas were selected. Being an international center of the U.S., Houston was the perfect spot. AntPool mines the second largest amount of Bitcoins in the world, roughly 15 percent of all blocks and is owned and operated by Bitmain Technologies who also owns Antminer and Hashnet.
Yeah, doesn't sound like the Jersey Sponsor after all. Tilman should build a practice facility and rent the Toyota center practice court for their Mining operations. Bet they'd pay a foolish premium to make the rest of China jealous. Hell, Cuban bought a massive business complex for $70m across I-35 from the stadium partly for their practice facility, partly as commercial retail spaces. Tilman could go into the business of renting office space to Chinese tech start-ups...with Landry's food courts.
