Let's tell it how it is.

The AFCS has sucked for a good long time since Manning retired, BOB has been there to win the division while it has sucked.

It's a lot better now though so now we are seeing his true value.

The next few weeks will tell if O’Brien has lost this team and locker room. I for one still have faith in O’Brien. He hasn’t had a QB since he arrived until Watson give him some time. He has Watson playing a lot more from the pocket we know what Watson can do outside but once he gets really more advanced in the pocket look out.

The tackle position is horrible we need one in the worst way. We have our best plays with empty set but Watson is getting killed. Have to find more offense from other sets than empty set.

Foreman comes back soon and keke might be able to provide some big plays from the slot. This team will get rolling and if not how we show up to games and or finish games will show if players love O’Brien or not.

Oh and can we see more Thomas and not so much griffin.

    Let's talk about Lamar Miller.

He's been average to slightly above average since he got here. He's been used the wrong way. Constantly running him through the tackles. The last time we ran a screen to him? I can't remember.

We signed him almost solely because he torched us for like 150 yards or something in OBs first year.

    How do I say this?

Obrien is an offensive coach. He signed a guy that torched his somewhat poorly coached defense. This offensive guru has been able to get little to nothing out of this guy.

Maybe he wasn't very good in the first place? Maybe his signing and Obrien's love affair was just an impulse, emotional decision because he played well against us?

Does that seem a microcosm for O'Brien's poor head coaching career?

    I'd think so.

And now, the main thing we can say to save his job is that, maybe he needs to hire an elite offensive coordinator. If he did, that person would immediately become the most qualified head coach on this staff.

    What a dumpster fire.

Lamar Miller is average. The problem is he is inconsistent. One week goes for 100 next week 10. The real problem is our RB unit as a whole. Lack of horses in the stable.

And under O’Brien we have always been one of the top rushing teams so he is clearly getting something out of an average RB.

Only BOB could completely kill off the optimism of a new season in less than 3 weeks.

I have a feeling that Sean Ryan will get OC job by the bye week and if not for sure in the off-season. He was highly sought after this past off season.

To be fair, he's never been used properly in Houston.

I think a competent head coach could make him one of the best in the league.....hell Kubiak would make him a HOFer.

I still have optimism. Look at the upcoming weeks colts cowboys bills jags dolphins on TNF. We COULD possibly be 4-4 heading into bye week.

I think he has been used just fine. 1000 yds and then almost 900 yds from a average back. The problem is his TD production. He is not a go to guy in the red zone and if he doesn’t break a big play for TD before that forget about him running it in from inside the 5-10 yrd line. The better option is Hop or Fuller or Watson scrambling for TD then to hand off to miller but when foreman comes back we could possibly have the option of handing it off.

O'Brien has done this a lot

-he said he got chicken and shrimp because he saw him torch new england in one game
    - traded 3 picks for strong becaus he bought the hype despite red flags
-he constantly signs gadget players who don't work out (Braxton, ervin, now hopefully not coutee)
    - he fell in love with Aikens at the senior bowl (hopefully he works out)

Then you add starting and keeping the wrong QBs plus always shuffling the OL because he can't figure out who should start where

Bottom line is he is a very poor talent evaluator. He doesn't know what he's looking at.

Then the bizarre play calls (shuffle pass for 2 point conversion?)

Lamar miller can easily be a huge weapon for us. Get him in space on the outside or short passes/screens and he could do real damage. But no, we'd rather have him run up the middle against a stacked box and poor OL.

rather have oliver than 4-4 on our way to 8-8 to be honest.

after 0-3 start against a weak schedule we should just tank, trade watt for picks, protect watson, draft oliver, sign best FA OL, and go get 'em next year.

IMO the worst thing that could happen would be for the Texans to manage a 6 or 7 win team.

When has miller ever been a huge weapon for anybody?

The lack of talent on the opponents roster has not affected the Texans win record at all. They will beat nobody until they stop beating themselves. Patriots have already lost two games. Texans are winless without having played anybody good.

He’s also made chicken salad with chicken shyt. I won’t name them all but 3 9-7 records 2 division titles and correct me if I’m wrong but 2-2 in playoff games. And for everybody who likes to bring up kubiak. He had a 12-4 record and 10-6 and was also 2-2 in playoffs.
