Apparently, he was supposed to get a QB who was worse than the one he had the year before. Fitzpatrick was the best of all his quarterbacks thus far. He was released and Hoyer was signed. Not only did he perform worse than Fitz the previous year, but Fitz outplayed him the same year when he was with the damn Jets. Then he got rid of Hoyer and signed Brock who was worse than Hoyer had been the year before and who was outplayed by Hoyer the same year (in limited duty) playing for the Bears (where Hoyer also performed better than he had the year before while with the Texans).

    Bill OBrien is terrible.

No sane person that has followed the Texans can hold any other opinion.

His former players mock him... there is a reason the players internally refer to him as Coach Downs.

Be proud of our offense, people. What we're doing hasn't been seen in 70 years.

I know a couple former players of BOB that live in Chicago that think he is a blowhard that doesn't deserve his reputation.

Yeah... it is even worse because of O'Brien's son. It is extremely ignorant and harsh. Not everyone on the field appreciates O'Brien's leadership, decisions or style.

Don't forget he started Mallet over both Hoyer and Fitz, and he was even worse than Brock

The guy is in way over his head.

    It's crazy.

It's what he wanted though, and he found a franchise dumb enough.

Next he goes to college. No way anyone hires him for hc, oc or QB coach

Not only is that sentence nonsensical but it doesn't really get to my point, either. Fitz had a decent year (for a generally terrible QB) when he came to Houston. Despite that, OB moved on and basically every year has had a worse quarterback than the year before. Also, Fitz had his best year as a Jet. And probably the best 8 game stretch of his career was when he was a Bill. So, what was your point?

Originally you asked who he was supposed to have as his QB, suggesting he had no options for anyone decent. I pointed out how he didn't even make the correct choices with the crappy QBs he had. He went from decent to not decent to bad to abomination/laughingstock. So, what was your point?

Bill Obrien investing so much time into hyping Savage to be the starter all summer is essentially what is making him look like a complete idiot right now. Preseason is just practice games but when the lights are bright and the music plays you should always play the players that give you the best chance to win. Benching Watson and Foreman was two of the dumbest moves of this season so far. It's stubborn, silly and stupid.

Way to keep it classy. What are you, 13?

    Reported.

God forbid someone tries to start a dialogue with an opposing view. Now I see why so many people don't get it, and just want us to score 50 points a game, at all costs.

And he was also benched for Mallet (after one half despite winning the job in training camp) and let go for Brock.

This QBs really had good years because we still had good talent left over from Kubiak. That is gone

The Texans had no quarterback when he got here because Kubiak and the organization wasn't willing to admit Schaub's weak to begin with arm was dead and held on to long. O'Brien shouldn't be criticized for not cleaning that mess up right away

Then yes Hoyer was better than Fitz. But he doesn't have franchise qb potential. Osweiller does. It didn't work and he still made the playoffs cause he is a good coach.

That includes keeping the locker room together despite Osweiller
