Butler interception...wtf was that. If you're going to start one of these historical threads, gotta think of the classics.

I no longer vote in non-public polls (accidentally did in this one, dammit!), but the biggest choke job? That's easy. Oilers versus Buffalo. I shouldn't have to say which game.

Sorry, I wasn't alive for the Miracle on Ice so I didn't list it. Still, I would count that as more of an "upset" than a "chokejob"

"Upset"? But your poll focuses on the best records ever...and the Soviet team definitely qualifies.

    From wikipedia,

The Soviet Union entered the Lake Placid games as the heavy favorite, having won the previous four ice hockey gold medals dating back to the 1964 games. Soviet teams had gone 27–1–1 (wins-losses-ties) and outscored their opponents 175–44. In head-to-head match-ups against the United States, the cumulative score over that period was 28–7

But anyhoot...I'll vote Warriors, because this is a glorious day to remember, and I cheer for you piling on, shastarockets!!

Losing 3 straight when all you need is 1 win is the biggest choke ever.

"When the **** is in the toilet, all you got to do is flush it"(or something like that) - kobe

To be the first ever to do something in a monumental moment is the biggest choke job ever, especially after talking all that shizz.

2004 ALCS out of the choices because being 3-0 and losing 4 straight is crazy. 18-1 really wasn't a choke, the Giants just had more luck on their side. Butler interception was preceded by a crazy catch from Seattle. Without that catch, there wouldn't even be a Butler INT.

But really honestly, the two that are up there from recent memory are 2011 World Series game 6 with 2 outs and a 2-2 count -- 1 strike/1 out away from winning a WS and the 2013 NBA Finals with one rebound away from winning an NBA title. Both of those series the team that lost game 6 end up losing game 7 and lost their championship.

Just one breh. But if I choked a different chicken every time, I could feed a Asia for a year.

For a recent and local example, how about the Astros 2015 ALDS. Game 4.

I voted for 18-1 but I think I've changed my mind. 73-9 has gotta be it.

Alleged GOAT team with unanimous MVP with three chances to close it out, with two of those on their allegedly GOAT home court? Yeah...no bigger choke than that.

73-9. They were up 3-1, it wasn't like they just had one bad game like 18-1.
