He didn't accidentally hit play. The recorder was in the Play position. It went On as soon as Ernesto replaced the batteries.

and fwiw: Saul said the street address number that he changed/forged. That's what Ernesto heard.

can't recall. Did Ernesto help Saul at the copy store, or provide look-out? or otherwise know enough to piece together what the comment on the tape meant.

My guess: in next season's Season 1 opener, they show Gene in an ambulance. Then the doctor's office. Then the announcement:

    "Gene... you have cancer."

Man,I love Mike's character. Every time I see a great scene with him in it, all I can think of is his demise down by the river with Walt.

And that shows just how much Walt changed, bringing both series full circle for me. Every time. I keep coming back to it.

That's why I love this show.

This is what I was trying to remember. Wasn't he there with Chuck when he collapsed?

I thought the episode was pretty good, although I didn't read up or watch the last few episodes of season 2, so I was pretty much lost during the first 15 minutes. Took a while for everything to come back.

I thought the confrontation with the air force captain was pretty profound. You could feel Jimmy saying in his head "f**k it!" and daring him to do what he needed to do (instead of groveling to the guy like he usually does) and that was a big step in his 'turn' to Saul.

Ernesto lied for Jimmy after the copy store debacle. Chuck started claiming that the only way Jimmy could of shown up at the copy store is if he was guilty and saw Chuck fall. Ernesto lied and said he called Jimmy. Ernesto said he lied because hes always liked Jimmy from his mail room days.

Does Ernesto look like he is rolling in Pollos Hermanos money? His job is wrapping batteries in tin foil.

I kind of got that impression as well, I'd have to rewatch the scene but I could of sworn I could the slightest of a smile from Chuck....

I thought it was clear that Chuck wanted him to hear that tape. Looks like he left it with the play button depressed and cued to a specific part of the tape so when he put the batteries in it would start immediately.

Yeah, great point, I'm starting to realize I like character driven a lot too, I mean as long as it's interesting chars/good acting. So far I'm enjoying BCS.
