I just ended up going with the Stihl FS 45. Stihl had a promotion going on and the price (supposedly) dropped a bit. I just have to use it for edging too. Now I need to get a blower. Can't believe I didn't think of that before. I'm guessing a cheaper electric blower should be ok.
Congrats on the Stihl weadeter! As far as the blower once again you really do get what you pay for. I have a Husqvarna blower and it handles the job with ease! If you are like me I don't look forward to doing yardwork (1/2 acre yard) so if you can invest on a good blower do it! In the long run you wil save yourself time and aggravation from dealing with a cheaper blower. Whatever you decide I hope your satisfied with your purchase Spoiler The Husqvarna 150BT is a commercial blower ......... ......... .........
No problem. Mostly did it for other people who might get confused with false information. You already own it.
Not sure what your agenda is.. but I agree let's stop people from spreading false information!!!! Thanks for your opinion! Now here are the facts!!! http://www.husqvarna.com/us/products/blowers/150bt/ If you feel it's false advertising I suggest you get a lawyer! .......... .......... ..........
I don't think that one is bambam, a commercial rated blower. Sometimes manufacturers like to throw "pro" & "commercial" around as marketing buzzwords- for instance at the top of the page you linked with "commercial" in the description, you can see how even husqvarna actually classifies it in their category breakdowns: Husqvarna, USA, Homeowner Products, Blowers, 150BT. Doesn't mean you should like it any less.
I put the link to show that I/myself am not making things up. I would not try to pass on false information to make someone buy some crap. If I took the time to post the info is because I think it's a good blower! If there is any false information it's comming directly from Husqvarna not me! Thank you for be respectful! .......... .......... ..........
BUMP I'm probably going to have to buy an Echo as well. How much do the cheaper timmers usually last, 1-2 years? And the Echo? (Obviously maintenance will play a role)
I bought a 36v electric B&D trimmer and I love it. It doesn't have the power of the gas powered one but it's so light and convenient to use. It has enough juice to do a basic 70-120 foot lot.
Kinda funny this thread came up, I'm in the market for a new trimmer/edger. I bought last summer a corded Black and Decker for $70 and I hate it. Not because it does a bad job, but I don't have any outlets outside, so it has to be plugged in inside, it's just a huge pain. I just bought the Echo SRM-225. However, I decided to take it back for a couple reasons. First, it's a 2 stroke, so mixing the gas/oil is kinda a pain. It wouldn't be so bad if I had a huge lawn to do, but the gas will surely go bad quicker than I can use it (the directions say 30 days, 90 days with a stabalizer). Second, and the biggest reason, it doesn't edge! Unless you have a full tank, when you tilt the trimmer to its side to edge, the fuel wont be delivered to the engine and it will die. For $200, it seemed to be a bigger PITA than it was worth. Dont get me wrong, if I had a huge yard out in the burbs I'd consider it, but my 7k sqft lot in the Heights doesn't have much to edge. So now I've been looking at the Toro 24 and 48 volt battery trimmers. They have pretty good reviews and from what I read, wont run out of juice for the amount I need it. Problem is, I can't find the 28v anywhere. homedepot.com says it's sold only in stores, but no store has it. The 24v will probably be fine, but it's a single string, where as the 48v is a dual string. I was also looking at a Ryobi one, but I read a lot of complaints about how the string had a probablem automatically feeding through.
This is the electric one I got. http://www.homedepot.com/p/BLACK-DE...5ecodZ25ecodZ25ecodZbx8iZ1z0ylm1#.UbPBUEBQF8E It's very nice. Automatically feeds string without bumping. Extends and compresses for storage. The head rotates for edging.
