I saw Dirk flop so floptaskily yesterday that I thought he was putting us on: On the way to the floor he squated, dropped his tutu and pissed on the floor mid-flop! Of, course then the entire Lakers team collapsed too.
They should put a flopping contest in during all star weekend next year. I think Devin Harris would win
Or since the Oscar's rating is dropping like a rock, we may be able to convince them to add a category to their annual award.
Dirk Nowitzki, is a far better flopper than Ginobili (or at least he get´s more calls than Ginobili). I think you have to think how much FT that person has in order to see how "good" flopper he is, Dirk being a Jump Shooter gets a lot of FT per Flop.
Most notorious flopper is Ginobili. But the best, as in the most polished and skilled, flopper is probably his teammate, Oberto.
1. Dirk - baller 2. Manu - baller 3. AK47 - *** 4. AI - super baller 5. Okur - baller Honorable mention for Scola, he tries to flop around but doesn't really get away with it to much...
Stern is voting this offseason to punish floppers. www.si.com check out Dan Patrick's interview with Stern.
The title of this thread is symbolic of the flopping problem. we say "worst flopper". "best flopper in the NBA" is like calling someone the "best punk" in the NBA. "Best Flopper" = oxymoron
After seeing the two flops on the Clutchfans home page, I think the need to come up with a flopping award and name it "The Kirilinko Award." They should also be a dance called "the Kirilinko Flop" that involves: 1) have your partner box you out without initiating any contact 2) you reach out and grab your partner's hand (or make it appear like there is contact initiated) 3) You fly about 6 feet away from your partner. Once you're an expert, you can also add moves, like grabbing your arms or covering your face to make it look like you're injured, or emitting a girl-like screaming noise so you catch the ref's attention.
IMO theres a big difference between the flopping by players like AI, Ginobili, AK and the flopping of our own Scola and Battier. Scola and Battier just embellish while trying to draw the charge, they're going down anyway, might as well sell the fall. While the other players mentioned just fall all over the place and embellish contact trying to draw a foul out of nowhere or from incidental contact. You don't see Battier or Scola flailing like they've been shot when they get a little love tap from another player(well maybe scola a little bit, but nothing on the scale of other players).
