Your precious system is broken. For many many years, two parties have been in power but continuously put the will of the people second. The audacity of both conservatives and liberals to only consider their position before listening to the other side is the reason Bernie and Trump have reached the heights they have. Many of you don't like the fact that Trump will be the nominee and that Bernie came very very close, but don't blame them or their followers. Blame yourselves. Blame yourselves for being offended by the idea of listening to each other. Each of you think you are so right that you don't even take the time to objectively listen and reject or accept an idea. Your positions are firmly established before even hearing the idea. Blame yourselves that so many are sick and tired of both of your parties and your bull****.

Based on each of your parties histories you won't learn from this. You will continue to blast them individually as well as label their followers as racists, bigots, communist, socialist, etc... Total and complete hypocrisy that reach narcissistic levels. Liberals and conservatives might have different policies and view points but deep down they are no different. The self-admiration, self-absorption, self-obsession, conceit, self-centeredness, etc... for their and by their respective parties is identical.

What these two have done is unprecedented but not at all surprising to me. All people, from all walks of life, including liberals, conservatives, and moderates are sad, angry, frustrated, etc... The political system has and continues to fail them. Are you just going to brush them aside as silly kids, communists, bigots, racists, etc... Throwing terrible labels at them that they now have to defend unfairly. Do they not get a voice, a chance?

I'm hopeful that both groups will open their eyes and say, "Whew, that was a close call. Maybe we should start to listen to everyone and work together to find consensus."

Honestly, I'm very pessimistic. In no less than a few posts in this thread you will see why. Won't be long before finger pointing and blaming each other for the situation both parties find themselves in.

And before you dems start the blame game because I know you are eager, realize how lucky for you are. hilary was the chosen one and bernie is old. If not for those two things you would be in the same position as the GOP finds themselves in.

The big money behind politics has done a very good job of divide and conquer.

Not a foreign national, I'm American. But not a democrat or republican. Not a liberal or conservative. You see I think about each thing before I decide how I feel about that thing. I think that makes me logical and reasonable but for many others that makes me weird and an outsider. I'm not the only one either. There are many like me. However our open mindedness has left us vulnerable because being open minded means not organizing around a common system of ideas. How could you. That lack of organization means you aren't invited to the party. It's a **** party though, full of drugs and alcohol, whores, criminals, corruption, really shady bastards these party goers are. The neighbors are pissed and are calling the the cops to have it shut down but the cops aren't listening either.

You might be logical, but it isn't logical to believe that conservatives or liberals don't also think about each thing before they vote.

A conservative of liberal can think about every single issue and how they feel about it before they vote. They can do that and still be a conservative or a liberal.

this is true and i acknowledge there are many open minded and logical folks in both parties. however, they aren't running things and that is apparent. they are the silent minority if you will. both parties have gotten more ideological and more partisan over the last 12 years. but now, i have a little hope they realize that it's a losing trend. both need to listen to the people both inside and outside their respective groups.

Bobby finally said something mildly correct.

Bernie and Trump, as well as their supporters, have only one thing in common; a dissatisfaction with the status quo.

What is this dramatic hogwash. It is written in the style of a 1960's Communist propaganda pamphlet dropped from the sky over West Germany.

First off, Bernie Sanders didn't come "very, very" close to winning the nomination. There hasn't been a single point where he was even remotely close to the favorite or even drawing even with Clinton. It is a false narrative carefully crafted by Sanders comrades. One in a long series of excuses trotted out. What Sanders has done is impressive but it isn't unprecedented.

It is also hilarious that you are calling the Democrats and Republicans as suffering from "self-admiration, self-absorption, self-obsession, conceit, self-centeredness".

Without debate the Trump and Sanders crowd have been the self centered crowd. From Sander's supporters claiming they know what is right for black voters when Clinton pasted Sanders in that demographic. To failing to understand basic electoral math, to absurd conspiracy theories, to the media boogie-man, to an odd belief that their candidate could do no wrong. The Sanders supporters arrogance and being so self absorbed that they could not see what the majority of Americans support. There is always an excuse for failure with the Sanders crowd.

As for Trump, there is no one that is more self absorbed or narcissistic in recent campaign history. The man puts his name on everything he owes, has encouraged violence and has purposely marginalized the disenfranchised. His supporters have threatened and attempted to intimidate anyone that dares to speak against him. He is a fascists (a very skilled one) that doesn't give a damn about the people.

So you can take your poorly written manifesto and shove it up your ass.
