I (we) know Harden is a good passer even when the media says he is a hogger of the ball. I thought he was simply a very good passer for a shooting guard. I didn't realize, or I wasn't aware, he is such a good setup man. I remember watching some clips with Harden in summer league and I was surprised to see that OKC was grooming him to be a PG.

More recently, The first preseason game as a PG looked a lot like the below clip. With an offense that has movement, Harden doesn't seem to be as turnover prone. D'Antoni might be on to something.

I wonder what happened. Why did they want Westbrook to be the PG and not Harden?

And remember, he did all that at OKC with Scotty Brooks as coach. He could have easily embraced the stagnant offensive tendencies, but chose to mix in his own talents.

I like how Coach Nick found the Elbow Get play by D'Antoni at around 4:50. In fact, several MDA plays starting form 3:30 on.

So, bbbreakdown has access to several season of games ... man, I'm so jealous. Wish I rewatch any game I wanted to at any time.

Harden's coaching on offense during his time in Houston has been as follows:

"Here's the ball. Go score or get an assist"

He's going to be very good this year.

People, hardens role may have been tweaked but he's still a "SG".

People get so hung up on measurements like height that they don't observe the players' assets. In an unbiased world we would see Russell as the ideal combo slashing scoring guard, and Harden as the ideal ball handling decision making guard.

Of course their skillsets overlap a ton. Probably in this day and age the names of the roles is virtually meaningless.

Harden is so underrated, its crazy

McHale and Bickerstaff were never smart enough to be coaches, it was all Harden. I BELIEVE THAT NOW

Mike Dantoni has come in and put in an offense that looks better than anything Harden has run in his career including okc

Some of the comments from the youtube video are nauseating. Some guy commented "yeah but he's a ball hog so he sucks" when the video painstakingly outlines how Harden has always been a willing and gifted passer. SMH.

a lot of those comments are from ghost accounts probably somewhere in the bay. When you mix a huge lin fan base with a huge steph curry base you will get hate from every where, especially if a guy like harden is percieved to be better than your guy

What does video show that we dont already know? Now that he has "PG" next to his name on the roster sheet, we have to go back to tape all the way to OKC days? This is the same magical passing that hes been doing over and over again as a "SG" that dominated the ball here anyway.

    Come'on guise......

We Rockets fans know this but a large number of fans perceive Harden to be a Kobe-esque ball hog who passes only when there's no other option. This video should help to dispel that public perception.

If Westbrook can average 10+ assists, Harden certainly can.

those cross court skip passes with his body all contorted are beautiful, but something he manages to do regularly and with great accuracy.

I think most of us knew all that, but it's probably educational for other teams' fans who only see Harden half a dozen times a year.

Was interesting that Nick explicitly highlighted how stagnant the McHale/JBB offense got at times, in contrast to D'Antoni stuff or even Scott Brooks stuff. I think Harden will be in a position to do great things this year.

Youtube has full time paid trolls working on pennies per troll comment. We need to stash some of the CF trolls like Jontro and Swoly D there. :D

I noticed last season that Harden gets his game going by passing and assisting. He'd usually assist quite a bit in the 1st quarter trying to get others going and then do his own scoring in the 2nd quarter onwards.

i've noticed that sports commentary is basically a rejection of truth and reality about 50% of the time. take the duane brown demonstration. check the texans FB posts about him coming back healthy and people bring up a total side issue of him demonstrating by saying, "STAND UP d******d" He was standing.

Hey where do you download games from? I usually get LP but I can never watch the games live anyway so the download option might be better for me....
