    Russ is more of an infectious leader, inspiring leader whereas Harden is slightly the more skilled player.

    Both are questionable leaders and what they got in common is they turn it over a lot.

    Almost every leader in the history of the NBA is a questionable leader. Effectiveness is measured by rings... which is more about talent and overall roster talent than anything.

    Harden will age better, unless he gets fatter before he gets older

    That'd be insane if:

    1. a player averaging a triple double on the season
    2. a player shooting 57% from the field, 44% from 3pt line for a 27/7/4 statline
    3. a player averaging 29 ppg while also leading the league in assists at almost 13 a game

    were all on one team....

    That depends on whether people consider Westbrook to be a decent defender. Because Harden is not.

    And they traded #3 away to keep a PF now averaging 14/7 (on a different team)

    I thought it was to keep the PF from Port Arthur?

    Conclusion...Westbrook relies a TON on athletic ability...Harden doesn't.

    Westbrook = Scorpion
    Harden = Subzero?

    I love that comparison.

    Both players are extremely good which can make these kinds of comparisons tough. I make no apologies as a sports fan about being biased towards the Rockets which makes me a homer when it comes to this.

    I like to think of this comparison this way: what if OKC had kept Harden and traded us Westbrook instead?

    Obviously that's a 'what if' scenario that we will never know. But personally, even though Westbrook is a great player, I don't think we would be as good of a team. I'm glad that we have Harden instead which, IMO, makes him the more valuable player.

    I'm so sick of hearing about the narrative that "Harden is the worst defender" when statistics suggest that other elite players like Lillard, Curry, Thompson are worse defensively.

    Both Harden and Westbrook are competent on-ball defenders (I'd give the edge to Westbrook) but become disengaged on help defense. The same can be said about most superstars.
