Marketing? Briles actually spoke it was an accomplishment. Must be a bonus in it for him to show enthusiam for something that doesn't impact the outcome of games. I guess some recruits actually care about this stuff too. Glad to get the recognition. I think the Bears are a serious contender in the Big 12 with the improved defense. Texas fans who feel confident in their ability to beat the Bears need to check themselves. Recent events have played out a bit different than they did pre-Briles. That said... I don't like the black.
Each School whose uniforms that are made by Nike is classified as either Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3 with the Tier 1 schools such as Oregon and now Baylor get special uniforms and helmets such as pro combat unis. Baylor had been tier 2 until this upcoming season.
Baylor isn't going to destroy Texas but they'll have a good shot at winning at home mainly bc their defense won't be as atrocious as it was in last season's game. The D got much better in the last month of the prior season and has some momentum going for it with some help coming in as well.
Have fun with a healthy Jackson Jeffcoat and Jordan Hicks. The Texans showed with Brian Cushing how much losing your inside linebacker hurts the defense.
Art Briles is an elite play caller. It's going to be a close game with Baylor having inferior talent. Edit: Have fun in trying to contain Seastrunk who looks like a first round talent, Tevin Reese, and that high octane Baylor offense.
