[basketballholic] One of Butler/Kawhi/Winslow/Oubre is a Rocket come March. And maybe even sooner...

Even if you’re right (and you’re not about Washington), it doesn’t change the fact that there are still 28 other teams and nearly all of them have better picks to offer and give or take half of them can afford to get rid of a better package.

I desperately want this trade to happen and for all of the usual reasons have next to no belief it will for the very reason you mention. We went after Melo and LBJ because of UNIQUE circumstances that will never happen again. Namely NO TRADE CLAUSE. We got one, eventually, and never had a real shot at the other apparently. Jimmy can want to play for us and we sure as hell want him but Minnesota wants what we don't got and everyone else will give them. If Morey were to pull this off, it is a true miracle. We are horribly outgunned on this one. Knight might make Gordon expendable in trade if he can regain his form but I am almost sure that is not enough with our picks. Unlike the other threads about this I love hearing them and can listen but know its only wishful thinking.

Winslow makes the most sense. Can't see how Butler would fit in.

    Butler has 1 year left.
When Butler had 2 years left, it was Butler+16th pick for Zach LaVine+ Kris Dunn +No. 7th pick. EG is already better than LaVine or Dunn. Why do you think Morey has to offer all this?

I don’t like the idea of trading Gordon

I would trade Tucker too if it meant getting Butler.

But if there was a way for us to get Butler, and keep Tucker- man.. that starting 5 is absurd

i dont either since he is a pretty good value, but there is no way to get a player of butler's caliber without throwing him in. i mean, its not going to happen anyway, but if it did EGO is definitely gone.

    Updated list removing Butler

    Winslow
    Oubre
    Porter, Jr.
Beal (could acquire him and move Harden to defensive wing)
    KD decent chance
    Possible but not likely
    Kawhi
    Barnes
    Batum

Batum is awful and there’s no way we touch that contract.

    Right team, wrong target.

Give me MKG and/or Marvin instead.

Why did you remove Butler from the options? Just curious on your take here, do you think it's really impossible to see an opt in trade ala CP3 with Gordon and Nene going to Philly next summer?

    I wasn't talking about possibilities beyond Feb. 7, 2019.

Why would Toronto entertain trading Kawhi still?
