Did not see this posted. But rumor is Baron Davis may opt out. And they are saying the GW is going to offer him something that's "significantly below" market value. I wonder if Morey could pull another miracle to get him.
yes we can get him, but we probably wont i would be really surprised if he didnt resign with GS. i would only want baron if he kept his 3pt shooting to under to 3 attempts and promised to attack the basket more other than that i would pass on him, he is a great player but i think his skills are suited to certain types of systems and i dont see adelemans systems being one of them. i would wait to see how francis recovers from his surgery he can be a baron lite coming off the bench if all goes well with his rehab
Exactly, if there is something to be read from that article it's GS is offering much less than what Baron is asking. What makes anyone think the Rockets can give Baron what he's asking for?
haha kevjumba. thatsmy homeboy but anyway i think its possible but the chances are slim to none. i can dream tho!
Will B Diddy sign for MLE? If yes, then welcome. In addition, Yao will give out one year Yao Restaurant free dining coupons to B Diddy to compensate his loss of salary.
are there rules against outside parties giving players money... like what if China decided to help Yao out and gave Baron 100 million to sign with the rockets... would the rockets get penalized?
Here is the rub. If all the big name PO free agents opt out, there aren't enough teams with cap room to sign them all. A few will HAVE to sign for MLE's So it's a long shot, but not impossible.
Houston has only one thing to offer B-Diddy, that Golden State cannot. A GREAT chance at a championship. B-Diddy has the same mindset as Jose Calderon. Both know what they can bring to the court and to a team. Both are stuck on mediocre teams that are probably not going anywhere in the next three years. Baron Davis taking a pay cut to come play for us? YEAH RIGHT. I mean, Houston doesn't have two superstars that demand double teams, perhaps leaving Baron wide open for three, do they? The point is, Baron MAY sign with us, because he knows he can taste the championship with us, moreso than he can with the Warriors. Lets put it this way. You earn 20 million playing with the Warriors. Would you take a paycut of 15 million dollars if that meant you could be guaranteed in the postseason every year?
When was the last time a star/super-star signed for the MLE? I'll believe it when I see it. Everyone will get their contracts through sign&trade, as always.
Could we sign and trade Jackson for Davis AND use most of the MLE to increase Baron's salary? I could see us as a player if thats the case. Davis' value doesn't seem very high to me, injuries, age, not many teams with room, other big names, etc...
