I remember an Edward Norton film "American History X". I call it his film because it was documented he had full control of the project and the original director had dropped out. With such of a hate history in Riverside why was this filmed based in Venice Beach with character portrayals based on the skinhead gang 'Volksfront' in Portland, Oregon, Randal Krager and the old beach bum Fuhrer was based off of Tom Metzger?
Couldn't they have used characters from Riverside and based the movie in that area?

u do know that the beach communities in So Cal (Huntington, Hermosa, Redondo, Venice, Santa Monica, etc. ) also have hate groups, no?

eg, Santa Monica is the home to such liberals as Martin Sheen, Kate Hudson, it is also home to such white supremacist as Stephen Miller, Trump's anti-immigration czar

I was asking why that particular Hollywood movie decided to take a storyline and characters from afar rather than base it on its own backyard? I know Metzger might have lived in California for awhile but that's it.

Do you know San Francisco is very different than other ‘beach communities’?

You probably think Houston and Dallas are similar too

spoken by some one who has never been to SF nor any other Cali cities

why aren't u talking about SF, the topic of the thread that u've started ?

it's because u want to divert attention away from the fact that u have no idea what ur talking about, as it relates to SF

I think it's a commendable thing to do. It was mentioned that these suites haven't been occupied for awhile and haven't no use. To be against says much about the nay Sayer.

People in San Francisco don’t want to be associated with Los Angeles

just like rockets fans don’t want to be confused with Mavericks fans

but you trolls don’t get that

Helping the homeless is the right thing to do

dumping them in a hotel then dumping them again when this is over without a real plan to make get out of their situation is the problem
Go down to the tenderloin district or anywhere in SoMa And see it for yourself
The main problem is a combination of drug addiction, mental health and a city that is the most expensive city in the country

but I doubt many people here know that much about it. But at least it gets the attention of how bad it gets if you don’t solve the main causes of the problem

San Francisco’s failed experiment of homeless hotels is a cautionary tale

A public-records investigation into the matter has revealed that, as of June 16, DPH approved $3,795.98 to buy the homeless guests vodka and beer (cigarettes have been scrapped). The funding came from the public treasury, after all.

    ---
In the end, the wildly expensive hotel plan is unlikely to help most homeless individuals achieve self-sufficient lives and won’t elevate the city’s most destitute districts.

You realize homeless people have drug and alcohol addiction problems.
That's how many of them became homeless.

buying them vodka is not their best interest.
