One of the greatest games ever played (and still brings an overwhelming depression when brought up) was the 1986 NLCS Game 6. Y'all know the story, no sense in repeating it. On CBSSportsline.com, there is an article recalling the greatest moments in playoff history. Here's what they have to say about that game: 1986 -- End Of A Marathon The New York Mets had the daunting task of facing Houston Astros pitcher Mike Scott in Game 6. Scott had allowed the one earned run in his previous starts in Games 1 and 4. The Mets battled back from a three-run deficit by scoring a three runs in the top of the 9th inning. The game eventually stretched to 16 innings, and ended with New York reliever Jesse Orosco striking out Houston's Kevin Bass with two runners on base.
