I was just asked by a friend in West U what she could do.

I suggested a couple things, she thought it was a good idea, but then she reminded me it was an outdoor activity.

I keep on forgetting how hot Houston really is.

Besides the newly renovated Galleria (which I'm told is unbelievablly nice and HUGE), I can't immediately think of things to do indoors, in Houston.

Besides going to the gym or say shopping, what things do y'all do during the long, hot summer (which I haven't suffered through in 4 years)?

Oh, and what improvements were there done on the Galleria besides the fancy facelift?

here is what i did to avoid the heat.

I got a new job at a country club (inside the information center), and the AC gets so cold that I have to wear a sweater sometimes.

All I do is play around on the internet all day. :D

Yeah forgot about that. I always swum at the ole' Meyerland Club in SW Houston.

Outdoor activities that don't wear you out are also good. What else besides swimming?

    1) I sit right here on this PC in the AC listening to MP3's, that's what I do during the long hot summers... forget that going outside BS...

    2) the Galleria has added a new anchor store, Nordstroms and built the new Galleria IV around it.

Go to a bar with an air conditioner and drink LOT'S of "cold beverages". Always works for me.

I'm not looking forward to this summer its going to be soooo hot and humid. And now I have that stupid Nelly song stuck in my head, Its getting hot in here, or whatever its called. There is nothing to do in Houston during the summer, but go to bars or out to eat :(

I like to sit on my couch with the AC cranked while playing Risk, watching p*rn & listening to jazz.

Play basketball in indoors gyms, and hang out in the AC filled house. Time to spend a lot of time on the computer. My job has me on a computer all day in AC doing nothing...just making sure the network is still up and running, and watching people sign in when they come into the Rec building...

Eventually you get used to the heat. Just get out there and sweat. However, in the meantime:

sex - best indoor pasttime out there
    Jillians
    movies
    TX Rock Gym
    Playstation
    steal music off web
invite friends over and eat and drink
    raquetball at the YMCA downtown
    bars, clubs, restuarants
    bookstore

    avoid the mall....all malls....they suck.

Houston needs an ESPNZone where all of you can come together in the AC, at a bar, with decent food, playing games, watching sports, and having sex in the alley behind it.

Will there be one: by the time of the Super Bowl?......Downtown?.....-or-.....at all?

    I wholeheartedly agree!

I've been to a bunch of them, but the most fun one I've been to was the one on the Baltimore waterfront...during a Ravens game!

Go to an indoor skatepark or buy a summer home in Oregon.
