Athletic people support Obama

A group known as "Atheles for Obama" is holding a fundraiser on Dec. 12 with former and current NBA and WNBA players - who will play actual games at the event, sources said.

The event, which will be held in Washington D.C., is expected to feature Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, Alonzo Mourning, Baron Davis, Doc Rivers, Vince Carter, Tina Thompson and Kevin Durant, among others.

Given the current NBA negotiations, this might be the closest thing to an actual basketball season that fans get for now.
