If the Astros finish 6-0 there will be a tie if the Cards finish 4-3, so it's 9 for the tie (6 Astros wins + 3 Cardinal losses) and 10 for the outright title.

For me, the most meaningful win so far is today's--today guarantees the Astros will not have a losing season. Tomorrow's win will be even better -- clinching a winning season and opening the possibility of overtaking the Cards in the Central (should they lose again).

That is correct, but the magic number to win the division is 5. All 4 guarantees is a playoff to see who wins the division.
