Hopefully as a backup. Otherwise they will need to add 2 bats. 7-8-9 of White-Chirinos-Kemp is weak sauce.

    Interesting.

Well he can hit some........... but that 10% caught stealing isn't going work.

Personally I would rather not meet the asking price for two years Realmuto.

Not surprised. Luhnow brought up the same point on Astroline I made in the off season thread. If they do nothing this off season they are still the favorites to win the division. I think he wants to roll with the young guys and see what is needed at the deadline.

I really wanted Grandal. Hopefully the money saved here is used productively somewhere else.

Meh. Curious what the terms are, but would’ve much preferred Machete. Wonder if Stassi could be moved?

Astros going the budget route. Let's see what else they do.

Corbin to the Nationals isn't good for the Astros either as the Yankees will exhaust every viable option to add another top starter. Lets hope they now go after someone like Dallas K rather than Kluber.

His bat is an upgrade, but my concern is that he is non existent against the run.

Let's see the terms of the deal. He may very well be a back up. Remember, the Rangers turned down his 4.5 million dollar option. Theoretically the Astros could have dealt for him if they wanted to. Either he isn't getting much money or the Astros badly read the free agent market.

If only Stassi hadn't turned into a pumpkin at the plate last year. I'd much prefer him over someone like Chirinos if he could just be an average hitting catcher.
