Not really concerned about Fiers seeing time. More concerned about us scoring a total of what. 9 runs over 45 innings since the pen puked up the lead Friday night. This offense hasn't been spectacular for quite some time now. Could they turn around of course. I hope they do this season has been too enjoyable to see you and go out like this
No. That's my objective prediction. I have no need to put anything on the table besides that. I did have a tremendously-bad yesterday, so I probably shouldn't have indulged my cynical side so much. So, to you, I apologize for twisting your post.
NO. That's my prediction. That's all I'm making. I was ridiculously positive on this team earlier in the year. Thought we had a group of young guys that had enough spirit to break with the Astros teams I've been watching for 28 years. This mental collapse (and that's what it is) is just frustrating as all hell. And I've seen it so many times over the years. Don't know whether it's management or something else about Houston, but I've just sort of finally broke. That said, I should probably keep my mouth shut more when I'm already having a bad day. I'll concede that and that only.
Amen. I'm sure the Stros are thrilled about a getaway game at night on the WC. Scheduled to get in after 7am, have a 7pm game followed by a day game Saturday. Maybe they'll be too tired to overthink stuff.
Those tickets aren't even out yet. That's people selling their seasons before they get them. The sale for people with 28 game packs goes on sale next Monday I believe. The number you gave is for Vivid ticket broker.
Sorry for your bad day and for making a ridiculous ultimatum. I usually hate these on here anyway, and I don't like it when anyone leaves. I do hope you're wrong, though. Let me explain why I disagree. The Astros have struggled to get healthy, but we have almost everyone back. It takes time to get back into a rhythm. I have trouble believing Correa will struggle given his small sample size in the postseason so far. I think hitting will steadily improve as we move through the next few weeks (back to our season average, which is ridiculously good). In terms of pitching, I'm just not worried about it, except for the health of McCullers and maybe Devo (but he's been better lately). We aren't going to put the scrubs we are currently throwing out there to eat innings on our playoff roster. That will make a huge difference. Does it suck that we are losing games? Absolutely. I want us to win when I go to Anaheim tonight. But it's less important than getting healthy and keeping usage rates down.
Next season, due to playing the NL West, 36 of 81 road games will be played in the Pacific Time Zone.
Fiers said he "thought he threw the ball exceptionally well" yesterday. You don't say that after giving up 8 runs. He's not being accountable.
Fiers suspended for 5 games. Why not more? With expanded rosters, that is a slap on the wrist. Astros should appeal as it needs to be longer.
Jake seemingly out for the season. Opens up a spot on the 25 man playoff roster, most likely for a 3rd C.
No. Seems like he's just about getting his timing right. He's hit some hard but just hasn't really gotten a hold of one. I trust that he will in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully lining up just right for him to get hot going onto the playoffs.
Again, it was a injury making a dumb play. Down 5-0 there is no need to try and get to second when leading off an inning. Similar to Correa's injury. Trying to score while the first baseman and pitcher aren't paying attention and the Astros were up by 7. While injuries suck, neither of those injuries would have occurred had they made smart plays.
It is tough to take the hustle out of players. Heck, Harper came up as a guy that hustled. Now, he's now he gets booed for not hustling. I think he was even suspended for not hustling.
