    Who's in who's out?

    Elarton should be ace.
    Reynolds
    Holt

    those are my locks.

I see the astros getting into a bidding war for Hampton. If the astros get him, cya lima.

I think Powell, Dotel, and Miller will fight for the fifth spot. Dotel will win if not needed in pen.

Dotel will be back in pen if wags doesn't return to form. I see the astros sending Powell and Miller to the pen. I hope they can add arms here through FA.

Just out of curiosity, do you think they'll keep both Powells?

Correct me if I'm wrong...but hasn't Reynolds been sucking his arse off, also? I don't think he is that good. He sure knows how to slump. He's the next Lima. I think he is expendable. So much for his ace status.

    Elarton
    Reynolds
    Lima
    Dotel
    Holt

    Eiland
    Miller

But forget that, what the bleep is Bogar doing batting second. Yes. He hit an HR last night, but I beg Dierker, don't bat him in front of Bagwell. How stupid is that!!!!

I'm not sure they won't keep Dotel for middle relief / alternate closer next year. He did a poor job starting, but became an excellent closer. The combination of Wagner and Dotel would help shore up or relief pitching, where we are hurting.

Lima's done better lately, and for some reason has suffered the most from a lack of adequite relief. I think he ate too much free Casa Ole food over the summer. He'll never be our number one, but with adequite relief and run support, he's a decent starter.

I think they'll dip into the free agent pool or trade for one more good starter, and look at relief. With all of our player development this year, we are going to be overstocked when everyone comes off of their various injuries. I can see them trading off an outfielder or two, maybe an infielder, in order to firm up our pitching.

Regardless whether you like him , hate him, or just do not care, Lima will be here next year. I cannot see another team taking him with the contract he has and the performance this year. I personally do not want to get rid of him because I think he is over his mental problem and now needs to build some confidence for next year.

    Next years rotation:
    Reynolds
    Elarton
    Lima
    Wade Miller
    Free agent(Hampton or whoever)

    Bullpen:
    Jason Green
    Wayne Franklin
    Mark Valdez
    free agent(or 2)
    Dotel
    Wagner

    RKMAN,

Wilfredo won't be up next year. Astros are slow on brinbging up players plus wasn't he injured for a little. Oswalt will be up first.

Reynolds went with the team. He had some problems and they got worst during the year.

J Powell is toast. I think Brian is a keeper.

Dotel was a dominating starter for the first time thru the order. He was OK thru the second time. The third time thru the order was BP. I think he can still become an elite SP if he can learn to pitch morer economically.

thought u might want to know that rodriguez will not be there next year, he throws a 93 mph fastball and he is expected to MAYBE get up late 2001-2002, MAYBE! i disagree with putting lima in the bull pen. When you have a change up like that u dont sit in the bullpen for the season!

Lima has a horrendus 7.02 ERA. He is lucky to still be in the majors.

    BBall,

Is that his mph this year? I think he has an upper 90s fastball before injury.

i read this article that said that he started at 16 as a venezualian playa who threw and 82mph fastball.... slowy he built up speed and hes throwin LOW 90's right now even before the injury. his wicked stuff is his offspeed pitches.

The article was giving props to the 'stros for developing there players. One thing u might be thinking of is first round pick this year Stehl(not sure on spelling) Hes a catcher converted pitcher with 97mph fastball after only pitching 13inning his entire life! the Astros have a LOT of hard throwing pitchers ready to explode into the majors in upcoming years. It will be exciting.
