Sad part is that regardless of what party people are for shouldn't matter right now. What matters is doing what we can to stop the spread. Everybody would rather do the things they used to do, especially in the summer, but we are in a pandemic. We have to suck it up and quit being selfish. If we unite to do our part then we can save so many families from losing their loved ones.

oh I agree completely. Yet Trump and Abbott have politicized Covid and part of the job now is to reprogram the idiots who follow them and don’t believe that covid is serious, don’t believe in masks, social distancing, etc. I honestly don’t know how you reprogram people who are purposefully ignorant, except continuing to recite facts until perhaps one fine day, they grudgingly admit to themselves, if nobody else, that they need to take this seriously and do their part.
It is amazing to me. Amazing. That we still have so many people in this country that think this couldn't have been handled better. New Zealand has basically defeated the virus. They are playing matches in front of crowds and everything. I don't want to hear the excuse that they are a smaller country. They are getting less than 10 cases per day because they reacted aggressively to the virus. Meanwhile, as USA continues to be #1 in the world...we still have people arguing over wearing masks and going out. It's going to be so bad if this thing comes back stronger for the winter. Other countries will be able to deal with it because they will be prepared...us though? Nah. The biggest issue in this country is the lack of intelligence of the populace. As demonstrated by so many people actually voting and supporting an actual idiot for President...and still supporting him after he proves for 4 years that he is indeed an idiot. These are the same idiots deciding that they should not wear masks.
My church had planned to "reopen" on this coming Sunday but our leadership wisely reversed that decision and will stay with on-line services, Bible studies and other outreach for an indefinite period of time, resisting a desire for in-person (and I am sure pressure from many church members)... There are too many self-centered selfish people who think just because the virus won't kill them because they are young and fit, then they should be able to do as they please.
