This is a game for the whole season. As of this today, ______ are the best starting 5 in the league. Whenever a trade happens or a big game occurs, opinions my change. Put your starting 5 and your reason... so it......

    Lakers

    Steve Nash
    Kobe Bryant
    Antwan Janison
    Paul Gasol
    Andrew Bynum

    Thunder

    Russell Westbrook
    James Harden
    Kevin Durant
    Serge Ibaka
    K. Perkins

    Celtics

    Rajon Rondo
    Jason Terry
    Paul Pierce
    Jeff Green
    Kevin Garnett

    Wizards

    John Wall
    Bradley Beal
    Trevor Ariza
    Nene
    Emeka Okafor

    Clippers

    Chris Paul
    Jamal Crawford
    Caron Butler
    Blake Griffin
    Deandre Jordan

    Miami Heat

    Dwayne Wade
    Ray Allen
    Lebron James
    Chris Bosh
    Haslem

Ill start. As of 07/29/12 the Lakers have best starting 5.

If andrew bynum matures the pick and roll from bynum and nash can be the dealiest.
Kobes numbers are going to go down, but his 21 ppg will be top efficiency in the league.
altough i guarantee a championship team if gasol and a pick for josh smith happens.

    Still the Heat.

Nash is great and all - without question an upgrade over Sessions, but I don't see him having quite the impact he had on the Suns. Not really a great fit on offense and defensively he's just as bad, if not worse as the Lakers previous PGs.

This makes no sense. If it's the starting five then why do you have Jamison in for the Lakers instead of World Peace. Same for the Thunder, Hardin isn't in the starting five.

He seems to be taking the best 5 players on the team (within reason for the positions). This is more of a "best 5 man unit" type thing. Should have titled it that way.

    Deron Williams
    Joe Johnson
    Gerald Wallace
    Kris humphries
    Brook Lopez

I dislike the Heat, but they clearly have the best 5.

Heat, but why didn't you mention the Spurs?

i think this thread is somewhat pointless. who cares who has the best starting 5 in the league? that doesn't automatically equal championship as the heat showed in 2010-2011. the best team (1-12 or whatever) is what gets you championships, and i think that in that case, the celtics may have the best 'team'

but to answer your question, the best starting 5 is miami.

Wizards.... I would take Nets, Mavericks, Spurs or Knicks easily over the Wizards.... I would take at least 5 teams not on that list over the Wizards....
