I dont believe the Rockets and Sports Authority are waiting to select an architect. They already have plans and a budget for the new arena. The animations that we saw a while back of the arena werent cheap to produce and were done by an architectural firm. I understand the project may be handled by HOK Sports Architects. My understanding was that the hold-up in negotiations was doubts held by all parties about the lack of defense played by the Rockets last year, and that if they don't pick it up next season the deal will be off.
