You came off a hugely successful season and still made some big changes.... and granted you just played your first two games against tough opponents, but losing by 26?

I don't know. I'm sure there is cause for concern. I still don't understand either of the trades they made. They were one quarter away from the finals, so they felt the need to make two huge trades? Doesn't make sense to me.

I still think they'll end up beating the Lakers in the Pacific though.

I wouldn't mind it if they started 0-10!

I'm very worried, if I'm Portland. Luckily, I'm not. [IMG]

Seriously, is that team TOO big? Granted, Phoenix is a pretty small team, but watching some of the game tonight, Phoenix seemed to push the ball up the floor to win.

It's only two games, but it's obviously not what they'd hoped (or expected).

I wonder if Portland feels like the Rocks of last year. "When are we going to win?"

I think the biggest problem in Portland is that they are TOO talented. That might not make sense but hear me out..
Every team needs to have the 'GO TO GUY' that can score whenever he wants. That player can end droughts for the team, and get his team jumpstarted. When the Rocks are down, Francis is our GO TO GUY. Portland doesnt have one. It showed BIG TIME that against LA last year when the blew that lead. The looked confused and they had NO player that stood up and took the big shot.

Kinda like the Olympic team. We had enough talent to slaughter any other team, yet were almost beat this year. Why? Because there wasnt a definitive 'da MAN'. Next olympics we should send 9 GREAT NBA players and 3 college players.

Portland needs to find out who their LEADER is, and stick with him all year. We can at least forget about Pippen. We all know he folds under pressure, then whines, blames someone else, and quits... But that is another story. [IMG]

    Dude,

They lost the game tonight b/c of tos, they shot the ball 16 times less than the Suns.

They played worse than the Suns. That's all. There's nothing magical about it.

Interesting enough they play SEA and SAC next. That should be fun to watch.

If I was a Portland fan I would be somewhat worried, but since I am a Houston fan I'm laughing. [IMG]

How long before Pipsqueak starts talking about fat butts again? Anyone care to to guess? Also, who will he blame the losing on first? [IMG]

I don't think I am worried at this stage if I am Portland. They have largely changed their roster and the new players are trying to find their niche. It is a long season, and I think Portland will put it all together soon.

I think The Pimp will again start blaming people for their fat asses especially, Fat ass Shawn Kemp who could jump as high as a can of cat food.

Seems like they have been so busy upgrading(?) the front line to push Shaq, that they neglected upgrading the backcourt of Damon, Smith, Bonzi and Anthony.

The Suns will be right there with the Faker$ and Spers. They are very athletic and Kidd is the best point guard in the league (sorry Payton) When Penny and Googs come back, this team will be loaded.

But Penny can't stay healthy, and Googs actually slows down their running game (I like him as a player, but just about everyone noted he wasn't fitting in well before his injury).

Have to agree with you about Jason, though. I was at the Warriors home opener vs. the Suns, and he was breathtaking. We were lucky enough to send him home with an L, though. [IMG]

If I were Portland, i would be worried. There is only two teams in the league at this point who are winless. The Blazers and... wait for it... wait for it... wait for it... that's right!! The Clippers!!! That's some great company right there.

Completely agree Bob, not many people are looking at the Suns to damage the Spurs, Lakers or Blazers but they will.

The Blazers and Clippers don't have any wins in the West, but there are a whole bunch of winless teams in the East right now.
