Are we sure Tyrod Taylor isn't the best (potential) option?

If what's currently on the team plays as poorly as they did last year, which was by far the worst performance of their careers, he might be ever so slightly better if he plays his best....which means his ceiling is as one of the worst QB's in the NFL....yeah let's go out and get that guy!

If he'd come fairly cheaply, sure, give it a shot. I don't think he'd stay healthy, but the Texans have nothing to lose. It would be a high upside (if by some miracle he stayed healthy) move if it didn't affect other things they want to get done with their cap space. If he won't come for the money they can offer then the best bet is to stick with Osweiler and Savage for an extra season while drafting someone they hope could take over the spot next season. Picking up garbage like Tyrod Taylor wouldn't help the team at all, it would just sink more money into yet another terrible QB.

So in other words the status quote is okay with you even though there is a better QB in taylor which you call garbage then what does that make the current QB

When you've dug yourself in a hole, the first step is to not dig it any deeper. Giving a RB like Tyrod Taylor a contract to play QB would be digging the hole significantly deeper. Even if a large portion of the fanbase is in the "we can't stop digging down now, we're in a hole" crowd, it doesn't mean that it's a good idea.

The hole is dug so deep why not bring in another QB to change what is currently here as for the fanbase i think we all want whats best for the team.

Again, that would be doing nothing but digging the hole deeper. Bringing in a QB that didn't work out is the reason for the hole in the first place, getting stuck in another contract for a RB to come in and try to play QB just makes things worse.

Also, sure everyone just wants what's best for the team, the problem is that a LOT of people are advocating for things that would actively make the team worse because they don't realize that it would make the team worse. If fans knew better, there wouldn't be threads like this at all.

Until you bring in another QB if it be Taylor or someone else who's to say that they won't be the answer for this system.

Anyone who watches football and knows what is going on when they watch it knows that Tyrod Taylor isn't the answer to anything at QB for any team.....so yeah, any of those people would be who is to say. You really might as well be talking about bringing in RG3 or Matt Moore.

Drafting a QB is probably what they should do, but it won't help anything this season. When it comes to this season, the QB is going to be either Savage, Osweiler, or Romo if he signs here. That's really all there is to it. If it's Romo, there's decent upside there if by some miracle he stays healthy (and it would take a miracle), if it's Osweiler or Savage.....well you just hope that they can do better than they did last season.

And that 's the main problem with bringing in a guy like romo he can't stay on the field at lease Taylor hasn't had the history of being hurt year after year.

And the main problem with bringing in a RB like Tyrod Taylor to play QB is that he doesn't significantly improve your QB play and he could actually make it worse than it otherwise would be with Osweiler or Savage if they show improvement over last season. Sorry, there's just no case for bringing in a RB like Tyrod Taylor. Doing nothing at all is a better plan.

Something has to give so whatever is done must be better than what is here now.

Sure, and that's the problem with a scrub like Tyrod Taylor, you can't be certain that picking him up would be better than what is here now, but you can be certain that if he is better than what we have here now, he won't be significantly better. That's why there's no chance that they are even considering him.

Same story really. You don't help the team by picking up people who are awful at playing QB or who are RB's pretending to be QB's. I mean, why not talk about Tebow if we're going to talk up scrubs?

Bobby you were somewhat making sense till you went there tebow may have been the worst QB to ever have won the heisman he couldn't even make the short throws.
