I thought this was actually about the two different versions of Lebron:
1. the quitter, who seems to just play bad when things are not going his way and thus forcing the front office to make a trade
2. and the MVP, who puts up almost a triple-double, makes it look easy and just does everything at a high level - in particular shooting at a high % this year

To me, but probably not to the media, if Lebron now plays like an MVP again it confirms he didn't put in his best effort before and makes him look bad. To plenty it will be that he saved himself for a play-off push and just proves how great he is and maybe he can even win the MVP with this type of narrative given the media loves itself some Lebron as the GOAT storylines.
