Are we 100 percent positive JB will not be Rockets Coach next season?

I'm seeing a lot of posts indicating that with Durant's free agency looming - he would find Houston lucrative because of the opportunity to hand pick a coach (as if he didn't do so in OKC?).

I have a feeling and it's just a feeling that JB will indeed be our coach next season.

Here's how it will play out:

JB takes us on a nice little round through the playoffs, I'm guessing a seven game series in the second round that we just lose on a suspect officiating call

Houston's front office signs JB to a nice three year deal

The Rockets struggle coming out of the gate in 16/17 and we fire him a couple of weeks in and let Chris Finch give it a shot

Les likes big names as his head coach. Just look at the coaches he had since he took over the team. Rudy T (not chosen by him), JVG, Adelman, McHale. I seriously doubt JB meets his eye.

I keep telling myself if JB is the coach it will be hard to support this team

JB is the biggest joke of a coach I've ever seen. If we sign him I'll have a big problem with it. No player or coach has pissed me off or shown a complete lack of understanding as much as JB has

Only if he pulls off some type of miracle in the playoffs. Otherwise Morey would be insane to keep him.

    Nothing is 100% in Rocketville.

I could see the Rockets go on a run and keep JB or more likely, there is no one available they like.

It would be a mistake to keep JB, but Alexander will do whatever the hell he wants anyway.

Doesn't solve anything. When he's already been on the team as a player, they won't respect him properly just because they already view him as an equal.

    Situation is fluid. :p

Let's see how the Rockets finish up the season.
Let's see how free agency shakes out.
Let's see what other coaches are available that are a good fit.

Debatable. Harden seems to respect him

It's up to Harden. He has the keys to the franchise right now.

It always is this. Warriors were allowed to set moving screens though out the entire post season run to win their chip.

A couple weeks ago I would have dreaded the possibility, but this team may have actually responded to him. He needs better assistants but he could be a serviceable head coach.

I'd prefer Thibs any day though.

Of course not...what's obvious is that he's going to have to be handpicked by Durant or Harden to stay. Harden still seems to like Sampson, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them make an offer to Sampson and retain the current staff, as they were.
