Corporations are leeches that always move their manufacturing to the next country with cheaper labor, more lax labor laws, and more lax environmental standards. China will be yesterday's manufacturing news as their laws evolve and their labor standards strengthen. Corporations are a microcosm of humanity and what we're doing to the planet. Hopefully Space X can kind us a new planet before too long.

Foxconn is a Chinese manufacturer. Not surprising as Chinese companies are moving to the outsourcing phase to find cheaper labor. This trend will continue.

Need international or regional labor standard as part of trade agreements. TPP wasn’t ratified so race to the bottom.

The TPP labor chapter applies to all TPPmembers and commits them to uphold internationally recognized worker rights. It includes new provisions that obligate members to establish a minimum wage, set limits on working hours, and adopt occupational health and safety regulations.Jun 22, 2016

If people want to punish the PRC because they let a disease break out I'm not sure India is much better. Sanitation and infrastructure conditions in India are much worse than than the PRC and India's environmental standards are poorer. India is a democracy but it's current government is rampantly nationalist and also has corruption issues.

We already have vaccines for the crap they have in India

They don’t kill bats, pangolins or dogs either

yeah the sanitation needs to get better but at least they did not mess with Morey

Which is the most important fact

The wildlife trade is bad in India too. Also considering how a lot of once wild land is being squeezed out in India the same conditions that we've seen that could lead to new animal to human transmission of novel virus are in India also.

True they didn't mess with Morey..

    Foxconn is a Taiwanese co

it is a case of premature ejockulation on the part of Indian media.

    consider the harsh reality

according to the CIA fact sheet on literacy rate, where literacy is defined as the ability to read/understand local newspaper:

    India 75%
    China 100%
    Viiet Nam 100%
if punishing China is the ultimate goal, then Viet Nam would be obvious replacement

good point but I don’t recall any pandemic outbreak starting from there. Might have to do with their climate (much hotter) and culture (more vegetarian).

Going from one pool of cheap labor to a even cheaper pool of labor. Capitalism, your efficiency in maximizing profits never ceases to amaze me.
