It seemed like not so long ago that all of ClutchFans hated Martin and wanted him out. Now all of a sudden everyone loves him again because he is having an amazing preseason and looks sharper than ever. Now I'm not about to call most people hypocrites on here but I hope you realize what a great player he is now. Last year he was in the "doghouse" but now he has his confidence back and will probably go back to being a top 10 scorer in the league this year. I know he doesn't play the best defense in the world but at least appreciate that we have one of the best scorers in this league. Remember this guy?: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/F9AhrMjO6fw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
So fans love a player when he performs but hate him when the same player sucks? Shocking! Perhaps someone should perform some serious research on why this is the case.
All players do this I would to it if I was in the NBA. Ask DeRozan. Anyway Martin is to nice I love what he has been doing for the Rockets in terms of spreading the floor, playing good defense. Lin is adamant that he doesn't want to be scoring a lot (makes sense) & doesn't want it to be a one man show so this opens a lot more opportunities up for Martin & makes him even more necessary.
Top 10 scorer? I doubt it. Actually, no it ain't happening. There's no reason to believe that he's back. I hope so and he's looked pretty good in preseason but hope isn't an action plan. People on the board turned on him last year because he didn't seem to care. There was the picture of him grinning during the loss (that I think was probably unfair to him) and he did not play aggressively. A contract year will do wonders for a guy's motivation. He's unquestionably the team veteran as the team currently sits. I hope he takes charge. But I don't think we should sy he's about to show the world he's on Durant's level just yet
Martin is fine but you spoke too soon. What about letting him deliver a 4th quarter performance in a meaningful game 1st?
I hope he continues to play at a high level .... and he's moved for a pick and a young talent at the trade deadline to a contending team in need of a scoring wing. I dont feel like he's the solution at SG for the Rockets for the long term ... this being a contract year , and the Rockets being such a young team with little chance of winning big , you have to think Martin's looking for his next contract elsewhere.
I agree It's like...as the game goes on he disappears. He can score 20 points in the first half and then 4 points in the next half. At the end of the game you can say "Martin had 24 points!" but it feels like they meant nothing. This is why some of us tend to call him fools gold...any ways, Martin's a good player (not great...) and hopefully he continues to play well so that we can sell high...
There was every reason to dislike him for his behavior last season. He held a grudge and sulked like a little b**** because we traded him to New Orleans. He's been my favorite player on the team ever since Yao Ming, but his behavior was childish last season.
Sure, he's a one dimensional scorer. Doesn't rebound, doesnt pass the ball. CAN'T play defense to save his LIFE! Morey reached badly for him with his "moneyball" approach. Has it proven to work? And the kids gloves are off now, this puts Morey on the hot seat now... "Fools Gold" - DD
He doesn't really fit in with what Morey is trying to achieve. Morey said today during the game that all the players he has on the team are high upside players. KMart is a high upside trade waiting to happen. My opinion is that there is a 90% change that he will be traded by the trade deadline.
Either him or Delfino (preferably both) need to go. The young players aren't getting enough playing time.
I'm starting to hate him for improving so much. If he could play this well, he should've played this well. I mean, the ****er was penetrating like Lowry and doing two handed dunks! Wth!?
