Seems there are some more computer savvy types here. I am trying to share a single USB wireless keyboard/mouse and display (a 24" 1080p TV) between a work laptop, a personal laptop, and an Android PC (Remix Mini). I've seen "name" 4-port KVM switches from Iogear and Trendnet, and cheaper no-name one on ebay. Unfortunately, the Android PC isn't rooted, so I can't use the KVM switch SW apps like Synergy (dang, since it looks neater and adds cool capabilities). Has anyone successfully done something like this? Any advice or suggestions?
Yes, tried this in the past with several different KVM. I've found the kb/mouse switching is unreliable unless you buy an expensive one. But maybe that has changed. I'd buy from a place that allows returns with no-questions asked. And just keep trying until you find one that can switch successfully throughout the day. Personally, I gave up long time ago. But maybe better now. I now just have different kb and mouse when I bring my laptop home to use on my desktop monitors, and switch the monitors manually.
When setting up a server rack, I found one that works with USB mice and keyboards. It was by IOGEAR: https://www.iogear.com/product/GCS22U/
