I currently am with USAA for banking and auto insurance. My premium has risen each year it seems like even with me not having any accidents or tickets. I recently got a quote from Esurance that is about 35% less then what I am paying with USAA. I'm worried about the price being so cheap. Are these people a reliable auto insurance company?
If you think the General, Fred Loya or SafeAuto are reliable as well then you're wrong. Any insurance company that pays for non stop daytime commercials are pretty much ****. Obvious is obvious.
I don't know anything about esurance, but this is silly. The reason they spend so much on TV advertising is that they don't have retail outlets or independent local brokers with ads on their vehicles, etc. They all advertise just as much - just through different outlets.
Yeah but the commercials are so good... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/uRGJUpwdwEw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> http://www.carmenpalumbo.com/
Both my wife and I have hit by a person with Fred Loya and General. Both were freaking nightmares to work with and they would literally take weeks to even get someone to look at the vehicle before it went into the shop so I claimed it on mine (State Farm) and let them mess with the crappy insurance companies. Just lately a lady backed into me with Farmers and since they're a reliable company, like a charm they called the day after and told me to take it wherever, whenever and the would pay full amount for new parts, etc. Just my opinion since I've had to deal with these $30/Month insurance companies/scams. I'm seriously doubting the ones who buy it have better relations with their own agents/insurance when they're involved in an accident.
I switched to esurance a couple of weeks ago. I was with progressive before that. Esurance was 30% lower so I'm giving it a try. 2 things I have encountered so far that I don't like. I had to get my car inspected for any prior damage. I have never had to get that done with other insurance companies. Not too much of a hassle but still took one hour of my time. I would have like to know that before I decided to go with them. I paid with credit card and it is automatically set up to be deducted once my bill comes due again. You are not given a choice as to that. Again they don't inform you of that beforehand. I don't like that because now I have to call them to cancel coverage if I want to switch again. With other insurance companies, I usually just let my policy run to its expiration date.
Wonder if this also applies if the "scam company" is owned by a well-known company. Esurance is owned by Allstate.
Or just cut them off at the SOURCE.... call your bank and tell me you lost your card so they kill that card and send u a replacement?
Seems fine to me. <img src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5546/9670335215_c1b04db8d4.jpg" width="500" height="412" alt="esurance"></a> https://apps.tdi.state.tx.us/pcci/p...ame=ESURANCE INSURANCE COMPANY&sysTypeCode=CL <img src="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2842/9673561378_68e694c99d.jpg" width="500" height="382" alt="esuranceTDI"></a> Keep in mind that there are no local locations to stop by and talk to an agent like most major insurance companies. Everything will be online/over the phone.
If you're going to go through the hassle of calling the bank, getting a new card, and resetting all of your other recurring payments - Then why not just call the insurance company and cancel?
I've been with them for a couple of months now and can't really say how good they are. I haven't been in any accidents to say how everything went. I pay about 180 for two vehicles, a 2008 Nissan altima and 2013 Toyota Tacoma with full coverage. I didn't need to get my car inspected at all. Once I decided to go with esurance I had to set up a call with my previous insurance provider and esurance to get some final information from them. This took about 10 minutes. I guess they want to be sure what price you told them was true before they give you a monthly or 6 month rate. Direct deposit is set up and you can choose your due date or move it around for a slight fee.
I don't like having to do that. Also, there is always a chance a mistake happens and they charge the card anyway. Which creates more hassle. Even if it's not a big deal, it's still something completely unnecessary. The only reason they have for doing this is add another extra hoop to jump through if you want to switch in the hopes that it discourages some % of people from not switching. I have 2 cars too. I only had to get the newer one(< 2 years old) inspected . I guess they only do that for new cars.
