So I want to check out a new sushi place because I'm tired of going to the same ones over and over. Anybody know of a good sushi place that is low key and really good? Here's a list of the ones I frequent so you don't name them off. Uptown Sushi Blue Fin Fish Asuma Sake Ra Sushi Rickshaw
That new Miyako place on Westheimer near Voss-ish is trying pretty hard with the atmosphere and friendliness. Def worth a try IMO.
Didn't know it was new, I first ate there a long time ago. But I agree, they have the best sushi rolls. 1/2 off happy hours with a big selection. Todai is great for a sushi buffet...
Sushi Jin at Memorial and Dairy Ashford. The owner is also a fish importer who sells to other restaurants, but I'm sure his place gets the first pick.
I have been getting good reviews about 713 sushi so I thought I might check out that place since it's near my house.
yeah i like 713 too, pretty low key... and cant think of the name at the moment, but the one on shepherd, in the half price books shopping strip is decent also some newer places include Soma, and Aka..
I really like Little Miyako I go to the one in Pearland and it is very very good http://www.b4-u-eat.com/houston/restaurants/reviews/rsv1610.asp
I think Little Tokyo is a little bit better than Little Miyako in Pearland. Pearland Town Center will also be adding Sumo Sushi soon which I have never heard of or tried before. Don't forget the reverse happy hours at Japaneiro's (formerly known as Kona Grill) at Sugarland Town Center and in The Galleria. Awesome Sake Bombs!!
Miyako happy hour 5-7pm is the best!! Cheap good happy hour menue and is usually always pack around that time.
I think there is a new sushi place opening in midtown this Fall. It's going to be right off of Travis St. Found the website: www.wecravesushi.com and I found there myspace: www.myspace.com/facuz
For people up in the northwest, Bonsai is low key and really cheap during Sun-Thurs. There's a menu that has a good amount of rolls for $1-2 for 2 pieces. Most of the nigiri pieces are $1 each. Best part, $1 beer, wine or sake.
If you're ever up near attascocita/kingwood area off 1960 is a place called wasabi, it's fantastic and I've eaten sushi at a lot of places
