It seems like society hasn't learned from last year's Columbine shootings. Its simply mind-boggling to think a little child co do so much. Who's to fault here? The parents? The school? The school system? The child himself?

This is also the same state that had the 11 year old kid on trial as adult! What do they teach these kids in school?

Whats just as equally sad is they are trying to figure out how the kid got the gun and might charge the person responsible with manslaughter. What a sad world we live in when people can not let the idividuals take responsiblity for their own action. It was clearly the boy that killed the girl ... It wasn't like the parents or uncle or whomever told him to shoot her!!

Don't you think that whoever left the gun in a position where a six year old child could get it ought to take some responsibility for their actions? Also, do you think that the boy knew the consequences of his actions, at his age. It's the same as suggesting that someone who is mentally ill should pay the same penalty as someone who commits a crime in calculating, cold blood. It's just a horrible case all-round.

The gun-owner. We need an amendment to the 2nd Amdt saying that anyone who's irresponsible enough to leave a gun out where a damned six-year old can get his hands on it should spend 20 years in jail.

I've just read on the BBC website that the six year-old cannot be prosecuted ... and you've got to agree with that.
