might be some spoilers for the others: Spoiler ending of ep1 showed that they have op superpowers. necromancy? thats pretty cool.. ep2 then had a dog character with a venomous bite.. and a chicken lady that could talk to animals.. seemed pretty lame compared to necromancy but hey whatever.. what really pissed me off was the ending. it was almost identical to ep1.. i get it - underestimating your opponent will get you killed.. but showing that two episodes in a row seems to show a lack of creativity from the writers.. not to mention i find it pretty stupid that dog just stood still while chicken crushed his head to a pulp with no attempt to a dodge whatsoever.. dude's got relfexes of an old man. ep3 then shows chicken being a coldhearted badass who shows no mercy but somehow cant seem to backstab monkey.. i guess thats monkey's superpower.. but then the next episode shows ox fighting monkey with no hesitation. so does monkey actually have a superpower or not?!
Inuyashiki is such a freaking brutal show, this last episode was so crazy. If yall haven't checked it out, yall should. Best anime of the season imo. It's really unique and gets really dark and brutal.
I loved both. In any case, I think pacing for movies are 100% better than anime seasons. I.E. that one montage swap scene in kimi no na wa would have been like 8 episodes in an anime series lol.
The Anime I am pulling off Toonami are HunterXHunter Iron-Blooded Orphans: Mobile Suit Gundam DragonBall Super and Dragonball Z Kai <--- This is kind of boring to me JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders <--- Dunno what to make of this . . . Only watched like 2 episodes Cowboy beBop ---- This is like a classic among Anime types but it is not grabbing me Same with Ghost in the Shell Other things they got is Ourlaw Star and Naruto I think I seen all of Naruto so . . . Outlaw Star I have no idea Rocket River
Outlaw Star is great. it's basically Firefly animated. Firefly copied Outlaw Star almost beat for beat.
I’ve read the manga but have yet to watch the show. It’s from the creator of Gantz and I enjoyed both those works
I have notice alot of the new Anime on Netflix is using more 3d animation Does that help them churn it out faster? I am not sure I like the look and feel of it . .. i mean it is ok but . . . .. Then again . . . some of the older older stuff doesn't look too sharp but some of that is like filler Rocket River
Speaking of Netflix they have the live actin version of Erased available to watch now. Two episodes in I really enjoy it so far. Also I gave Juni Taisen a watch and was digging the first two episodes but seems to really go down hill from there. Black Clover seems okay but it is trying really hard to be Fairy Tail. At least Shokugeki no Souma stays excellent in its third season.
I just finished Devilman Crybaby on Netflix. Holy crap what a ride. Good music and stylized animation. Quicking warning that the sex and violence is high in this one. Easily the best thing I’ve seen this year thus far
Hope they altered the plot, the rushed ending took this anime from a potential 10/10 to a wasted chance.
Watching JoJo's Bizarre Adventure It is a bit weird. They deal with 'STANDS' which are basically little helpers they have Kind of boring . . . mainly because i don't know all the players Looking for more stuff Rocket River
New anime I’m watching called Darling of the FranXX. 2 episodes so far and I’d say it’s pretty damn good. Mecha anime that appears to have some slight influence from Evangelion. Good animation by Studio Triggers and waifus
I'm kind of liking it, but the sexual metaphors/symbolism are more than a little over the top for me. Overlord season 2 episode 4. Japan loves their OP main characters, but they almost always seem to be lame as f**k. That episode was a textbook example of how an OP character should flex. One of my favorite scenes of any anime ever.
Started watching one piece with a lot of time skipping. I'll give it 30 more episodes before I drop it. At this rate it would take me a year to catch up.
Black Clover is ruined by the main character's voice acting. Completely unwatchable when he speaks. Read up on inuyashiki. That's an interesting plot. Kinda wish they didn't make the teen bad and the older guy good, even though I guess it reflects the standards of today? (In the US, at least. lol freakin' degenerate millenials, amirite?)
