Yeah ok 1 dimensional shooter who only scored 5 pts in 30 mins is not the reason we lost. Maybe if he actually did his job and created space with his shooting then everybody wouldn't have a hard time scoring. Anderson contributed to pushing the lead to 10? Really? Well apparently thats all he did cuz he only scored 5 pts on 25% shooting!

Lol @ "1 clutch 3 pushing lead to 10". Do you even know what clutch means? Or are you willing to just say anything just to trump up Anderson?

I think MDA deserves some heat.
I mean clearly all the players sucked.
But you saw it coming a mile away.

MDA still.... still.... has NO plays.

Which is fine 95% of the time. But you have to have a bag of tricks to go to. And they only needed it two or three times. Ancouple effective plays. Snap out of the funk.

Ariza is almost leading the team in minutes while having the worst net rating of the rotation players and is shooting about 25 percent from the field.

Where is this "two way player" you speak of?

The Rockets were actually +12 during Ryan Anderson's 31 minutes. The collapse happened during his absence. If he were a better player, maybe he would have played those minutes and did something to save the team, but if we are finding someone to blame, the candidate should be somebody who was on the court during the team's collapse.

Man, On the real, I dont give a hot damn about Anderson. It annoys me how lazy you guys are blaming every thing on him. The man was trash shooting but he at least tried to do something else to help the team. With all his concentrated garbage play how is he a +12 on the sheet?

Net rating? Really? Net rating is just offensive rating-defensive rating, in other words its just point differential which has so many factors you can't isolate a player's performance unless you are looking at a season or more of data.

Do you think MDA and the rest of the coaching staff are dumb as bricks? If Ariza is the worst starter on the team why does Ariza almost the most minutes while Anderson plays the least? Keep in mind Luc and Tucker are both SFs originally.

Lol +/- in a single game. That's definitely very accurate. +/- only works in baseball because then you have players performing without any input from others.

Eric Gordon 27 pts 7 assists 4 rebs 40% FG
    Anderson 5 pts, 2 assist, 6 rebs 28% FG

Who do you think played better Gordon or Anderson? Well Gordon is ONLY +9, Anderson is +12 hey I guess Anderson is the best player this game :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

    1) Net rating shows how efficient the team has performed with you on the court. Ariza's is the worst on the team. Anderson's is amongst the best. Please explain why that is irrelevant, because I happen to enjoy lineups that succeed as opposed to one's that do not succeed.

    2) Ariza playing the most minutes on the team is precisely the problem. Go look at the numbers, he's easily been our worst player so far.

You singled out Anderson's stat line is "a single game". I did the same.

And let's be clear...I'm not saying Anderson is some stud or anything. His individual game needs to improve. But the team just still excels with him on the court. That's just a fact so far. And it's early, so Ariza may get hot soon, but I just don't get why Anderson is blamed far more often.

Net rating shows how efficient the team has performed with you on the court but it doesn't mean YOU were the reason the for the performance. There is no way to isolate your performance from the score because when you are on the court you are also sharing the court with 9 other guys, its not like it is in baseball where there is no team play and so your +/- numbers are reflective of your actual performance.

If the coach plays you when the team is leading but always sits you down when the opponents starts catching up or leads will you have a high +/- or not? To say the team just flat outs excells when he is on the court and just use +/- as the basis is just bad use of statistics IMHO.

If Anderson is the team's best player as his +/- would indicate and Ariza is the team's worst player as his +/- indicates then Anderson will play the most number of minutes and Ariza would play the least, the coach wants to win and will play the guy who leads to wins the most.

Just use this game as an example of how misleading +/- is. Please explain how Anderson who only scored 5 pts on 28% FG has a 25% higher +/- than Gordon who had 27 pts? How did Anderson who only had 1 more reb and 5 less assists and 22 less pts contribute 3 more pts than Gordon?

The REAL reason everyone hates Ryno is because he’s white.

He is +12 because the coach played him as long as there was a lead and then sat him down when the lead started disappearing. Anderson is a "win more" player, he is there if the lead is a lot but in critical situations or when the team needs to catch up he is benched because he provides little of value, that is why his +/- is high. It is like having a fair weather friend if he is only there when there are good times but absent when things go rough then obviously you will only have good memories with him.

It is ironic you call me lazy but then just use +/- as your entire analysis for Anderson's performance. His +/- is a whopping +12 therefore he obviously tried the hardest and scrapped all over the court despite the fact that for all his effort and sneakiness he only had 1 more reb than a freaking SG who is like 5 inches shorter than him.

I wouldn't say Ariza is completely trash but he is definitely not a spring chicken anymore. I started a thread about this. There is a serious noticable difference when Ariza gets better rest. Eric Gordon needs to come off the bench and maybe let Tucker start. They will always need a defensive stopper next to Harden. If Cp3 is down let Tucker do beverly duties.

You do know Anderson was put in the game during the 3rd quarter when the Rockets lead was only 4 and was taken out of the game when the lead ballooned to double digits for rest at around the 6 minute mark. Back in the game when Harden lost the lead ISOing. Then back on the bench around the 2 minute mark because the team needed more defense. Did you watch the game?

Did you make all that stuff up just now?

The best solution is to play him only on road games. Somehow he just suck in Toyota Center.

Frustrating because we've seen him play better in New Orleans and you'd think things would just be easier in our offensive system. But it's still a small sample size, he looked good against the Warriors and Chris Paul's eventual return will help to. We'll see

Big part of it. Half if not more of Anderson's value is just the spacing it provides for the offense. I still wish he'd be more agressive on offense though, I expected him to have big scoring nights more often than he has when we signed him. If he could do it in New Orleans no reason he shouldn't be able to do it here.
