I believe the front office cares more about the contract that comes with CP3 compared to it being on a younger player in Westbrook. Not to mention rumors of Tillman Fertitta complaining about CP3's contract behind closed doors. See the pieces of the puzzle are now starting to come together and make sense as far as what's really going on with the Rockets within the organization.

 

We were also interested in Butler, Iggy, Javale so I'll believe it when and if it happens...rockets have no choice but to go after whatever options are out there now..LA runs the west now

 

He’s still a very good player but you’re kidding yourself if you don’t think he’s on a major decline. He’s also a terrible fit for our team and has an AWFUL contract. At least with CP3 we get a high level of leadership and out of the contract in 3 years.

Since everyone here complains CP aint ballhoging enough and creating for himself, how can you not like Westbrook at the same time since „JAmes has to do everything by himself”. Now he could stand around as he likes and watch Russel do what he does. Same for Westbrook. He would stand offball as he likes and not move at all

Westbrook’s salary is 38,178M.

So, there is a potential trade: Gordon+Shumpert+Nene for Westbrook.

 

I wouldn’t assume that getting one would mean getting rid of the other.
