Diminishing returns but still tops..... http://www.darkhorizons.com/walking-dead-ratings-slide-with-return/ “Walking Dead” Ratings Slide With Return When you’re the unarguable king of TV series in terms of ratings, there’s only one direction for those ratings to go ultimately – down. Without question, AMC’s “The Walking Dead” hit its peak in terms of audience around its fifth or sixth season with the ratings for the show’s various premieres, finales and mid-season episodes having since slid with each year passing. That trend continued this week as Nielsen Live+Same Day data for the eighth season midseason premiere saw the show drawing a 3.6 rating in adults 18-49 and 8.3 million viewers. While that’s up from the 3.4 and 7.9 million viewers for the mid-season finale, it’s still the lowest-rated “Walking Dead” midseason premiere to date even with its major farewell to one key character. Previous Live+Same Day results for mid-season premieres have been (first season was just six episodes so no mid-season premiere): Season 2 (2012) – 4.2 rating, 8.1 million viewers Season 3 (2013) – 6.1 rating, 12.3 million viewers Season 4 (2014) – 8.2 rating, 15.8 million viewers Season 5 (2015) – 8.0 rating, 15.6 million viewers Season 6 (2016) – 6.8 rating, 13.7 million viewers Season 7 (2017) – 5.7 rating, 12 million viewers Season 8 (2018) – 3.6 rating, 8.3 million viewers Nevertheless, the show was easily the top-rated show on cable on Sunday and remains the number one show on television among adults 18-49 for the sixth season in a row. Angela Kang, who has been a writer on the show since 2011 and co-executive producer since 2013, is replacing Scott Gimple as showrunner next season. Source: Variety
Got to see the 1st episode last night on the rerun and there were 2 just blatant 'pull the camera in and out to SHOCK' moments of Rick and Michonne in the junk city that had me laughing so hard, the F is that??
Thank you for killing off the garbage pail kids. Annoying Carl and annoying garbage people are dead so we're turning the corner. All in all, I guess last nights episode was pretty good, but I don't really know anymore.
That was so cheesy! I laughed out loud for real as they cut into the intro on that note. I don't get why Enid is being highlighted as much as she has been. No one cares about her JSS ass. This show is annoying to me now but I'm at least going to make it thru this season. Again, if Negan isn't dead by then I quit indefinitely.
Huh? Where are they going to go? You did see them out on the road before Alexandria...right? They weren't in good shape. If you could expand on just what driving away entails, then we will hear you out. What is your plan after they "just drive away"? McDonald's drive-thru? I have to say I enjoyed the last two episodes. They killed off righteous Carl and they made hamburger meat out of zombies. It was sad and disgusting.
I sure af hope so. She brings nothing substantial to the table. They're trying to hard to make us care about the super supporting actors/actresses. When Rick was talking to Michonne in the van I was thinking, man what a good time to catch the audience off guard and kill her off while they're talking. Can you imagine how insane that would drive Rick. But they won't cause they have lazy b**** writers.
All these night shoot-outs, way too violent and too dark to see anything, I mute it. OTT for the sake of being OTT...
I've been falling asleep during most of the episodes this season and even though I'm nodding in and out, it doesn't seem like I've missed much.....
From watching TD I guess I found out Sir Melted Face, can't think of his name, shot Tara in the back w.an arrow during the pitch-black shoot out..
