Apologies if this has been posted, lock it up if so. I came across this video on Hakeem's youtube channel. Yao and Hakeem are at the ranch discussing the specifics of post play. One of the interesting tidbits is Yao demonstrating how he played Dwight (they talk about his weakness in turning over the ball in the post). It's truly amazing to hear these two legends talk about post play with such detail. Worth the 5 minute watch.

They're right about Dwight turning it over in the post. It's hard to watch at times.

It never gets old watching this. Gigantism is such a crutch, Yao would have been an All-Time great.....

Amazing video. Not just in the greatness and smarts contained in those two, but it is striking how much bigger Yao is.

Also agree... we were robbed of the opportunity to see Yao play more years of NBA basketball.

As much as it hurts that Yao was not able to have a longer career, it is some salve that he is a fine human being.

it's amazing that the weakness Yao describes about Dwight is still not remedied. He is still holding the ball too low when he spins, or puts it on the floor. No wonder Yao dominated Dwight in h2h matchups.

I got your gigantism right here.
And no, Yao does not have it. His parents are both really tall. He was genetically created.

I feel so bad for Yao, especially when he is talking about his foot now. He was 20 screws in his foot! Just thinking how much he sacrificed and the pain he has go gone through is really sad to hear and think about.

100% sure he doesnt. his physique and appearance suggest nothing of that, typically people with that have HORRIBLE conditioning, much less enough to even run up and down a bball court with NBA calibre athletes.

was interesting to hear how he'd try and force turnovers against Dwight, bodying him after his dribble.

This video is amazing on at least 457 different levels.

My favorite part is how, at one point, Hakeem seemed almost baffled that Yao played for the Rockets for so long:

Hakeem: "How many years did you play?"

    Yao: "9."

Hakeem [surprised]: "You played 9 years?"

Yao: "I played 9 years for the Rockets."

Hakeem: "Oh, okay. So you've got some years."

Yao: "Yeah." [laughs] "But I've missed a lot of games."

    My favorite part.

Hakeem: Just raise your like hands like this like Michael Jordan, you know Michael Jordan?

    Yao: yah.

Love this so much. Super cool to see how enthusiastic they both still are about the game. Now we need Yao to come in and work with Dwight too.
