This may have already been done before, and I apologize if it has, but I just thought it'd be cool to list the All-time Rockets Starting Five:

PG- Steve Francis (Yes, after 3 seasons he is already the best
point guard that the Rockets have had.

SG- Calvin Murphy (best shooter in Rockets history; Hall-of-Famer)

SF- Lewis Lloyd (perhaps underrated as a Rockets- 14.8 ppg in
    five seasons as a Rocket)

PF- Rudy Tomjanovich (Barkley is also a close second place, but
he hasn't done nearly as much for the Rockets as Rudy T has)

C- Hakeem Olajuwon (Certain Hall-of-Famer; among top 5 centers
    ever)

Others who are definitely in consideration: Elvin Hayes, Moses Malone, Robert Reid, Rodney McCray, Ralph Sampson.

I'd rather have Drexler at the SF.

I'll put up this Rockets team against yours:

    PG - John Lucas
    SG - Clyde Drexler
    SF - Rick Barry
    PF - Elvin Hayes
    C - Moses Malone

(Note: I would take Hakeem over Moses, but I would be willing to bet that this team would beat yours)

The only edge you have is at SF and that's cuz I was stupid enough to forget Drexler. Murphy is quicker than Clyde; Steve will eat up Lucas; Dream will tear up Moses with his quickness and his height advantage; and Rudy T and Elvin will be a wash.

Elvin and Rudy a wash? Rudy was a 3 and elvin was a 4. Murphy over Clyde? Someone please tell me this isn't true. Moses in his prime vs Hakeem in his prime is almost a wash. Moses didn't win 3 mvps for nothing.

I didnt say Murph over Clyde, but for all of Clyde's athleticism, Murph is too quick and is too good a shooter to just give Clyde the edge on this one. And to think that Moses would hang with Dream? Not even Shaq in his younger days, nor Patrick Ewing could even play on Dream's level in his prime.

My guess is that you are not old enough to appreciate the abilities that Hayes, Lucas and Malone had. No harm in that. As great as Hakeem was, had you seen Malone in his prime, you know that he would have been able to play him to a near draw. Since Rudy T was not a power forward, Hayes would manhandle him. Lucas was the number one pick in the draft for a reason. He was a very good player. Barry vs. Lloyd? No contest. Murphy was a great scorer, but if he had the same stats and was 6' 4", would he have made the Hall of Fame? Doubtful.
