I'm 16 years old and I'm currently working at Office Max. It is pretty easy for me to get days off, but I need a good excuse so I can get All-star weekend off. Any ideas?

A sick aunt is a commonly used excuse.

Trust me, don't tell your boss that your grandma died...I think I went through five grandmas and three grandpas when I sacked groceries at Kroger

You're a 16 year-old kid working (probably) part-time. 16 year-old kids are loaded with "family obligations," and any other adult should recognize that.

I'd just use that. If they want you to get more specific, say you have a wedding to attend out of town.

I used variations of this several times over my teenage years.

I think I'm gonna go with "I'm spending the weekend with my family up in Denver." Good excuse that they can't say no to.
