Once the trade deadline passed and Ricky Rubio wasn't wearing a Rockets uniform, that's when I knew this season was doomed.
Clearly if Kawhi had missed the shot and was a bit late on the block than he would not be the MVP over Harden.. Clearly now Kawhi has won the MVP. In addition if Kawhi missed the shot and block and we won the Spurs would not be in the Western Finals and we would. Now obviously we are not in the finals and will lose in at most 5 games if we meet the Spurs, but probably be swept in four games. MDA talking to Harden is clearly not good enough anymore. Harden should be traded for young players and picks. Half the guys on clutch cannot get harden any more and even viagra won't help till the next win.
Capella 25 mins, Nene 19 mins, and RA 25 mins.... that ALL the big minutes vs the Spurs... Trez couldn't even get on the court... it's one thing to 'play to your strengths' and quite another to be 1 trick pony... face it, we're a 'gimmick' team that is all predicated on the 3 ball.... 3 ball not dropping? We might as well go home... cause we won't make adjustments, we won't fully utilize something like Capella PnRs, and we wont play consistent enough defense to keep us in games if the 3 isn't dropping... despite our record and seed, i am growing increasingly frustrated - because I can see how this movie ends... CLANG.... CLANG.... a few games where the 3ball isn't dropping while we give up layups on an ongoing basis... and that's all she wrote... having a stretch 4 is great for spreading the floor... unless of course you think rebounds are important.... smh.... that's my vent....
Well if you can't build a super-team, and don't have the best player on the planet, you have to get creative. We space the floor with shooters that can actually shoot, as opposed to years past. Shooters will have off nights (like last night, yet we were still in the game). If that is your offense, or "gimmick" as you put it, then obviously you will be exposed in other areas, such as offensive rebounding. It is what it is, at least we are fun to watch. Chip and a chair folks....
History shows that when we are outscored by our opponents, we usually lose. Why oh why do we show up some nights and not others, or we wait until it's too late to mount a comeback???? Sniff....
That's the league. Every team will lose games they should win and win games they should lose. Every team will look spectacular some nights and miserable on others. It's the nature of the beast.
