Who was better in their prime? I never got to watch any of their fights, but i've been watching clips of Tyson lately. And I don't see how anyone could beat this man when he was at his best. Looks like easily the hardest puncher to ever box. I'd say Tyson, but I could easily go for Ali as well. THOUGHTS!?

According to some people, Tyson was a glorified can crusher that never won any fight against a worthy opponent. But i have no idea, too young to have witnessed mike in his prime
Ali beat boxing legends like Sonny Liston, Joe Frazier & George Foreman. Tyson's biggest victories were against Larry Holmes and Frank Bruno.
I'm not sure.. There was never a fighter in the history of Boxing with Mike's Power + Speed.. It was either you had Power or Speed. No doubt Ali was a better skilled fighter but Jesus if George Foreman had Mike's speed he would of Killed Ali. Ali would dance around the ring from Mike and try to wear him out but Mike was just so fast. I would have to tip my Hat to Mike...
Mike can punch a hole in your chest; I remember some documentary about Mike, he was so driven to win... not for fame, not for glory, but rather in fear, fear of going back to his old life, the crime, the drugs, the danger... then as he somewhat secured financial stability, his fear subsided, and he lost his edge Mike in his prime is the sickest beast ever The Baddest Man on the Planet, Iron Mike Tyson.
Ali had the speed, reach, and technique to whip Tyson at his best. Tyson was just too undisciplined and if you survived the initial storm, he had no tricks left.
Maybe, but I really I hate to think how many old ladies with groceries would have punched in mouth in Catskills in the late '80s if Don King weren't around. Ali would have either been a huckster preacher or the leader of the chain gang; but more just due to being in Louisville in the '50s and '60s. Either way he would have probably had a crap load of gambling debts and/or children. But back to the original question, I didn't realize Ali's actual abilities until I saw some clip of him playfighting with Cosell during an interview on his talk show. Guy was in a full suit, starts shuffling his feet and they're a freaking blur. As shocking as the second Holyfield fight was, watch Tyson against Lewis. Standing still and cowering without even being punched. Sorry; adversity and recent good press notwithstanding, dude is a ******* psycho with quick hands, not a world class boxer.
Yeah it was, but the most damning evidence against Tyson was the tomato cans he fought... versus Ali dominating a golden era. It's like Hakeem's ownage of his era versus Dwight Howard's domination of his era. Just not comparable.
Tyson's hands completely leveled boxers, he hit with an incredible velocity. The hardest hitter will always be manos de pierda though, definitely at his weight. <iframe width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ydUVVT2DPjs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
