That to me looking back was the defining factor as to why they had such a dramatic meltdown after 4 fantastic post-season wins followed by 4 gut-wrenching losses. They ran out of gas. This Red Sox team was too good, and our guys too hobbled. Altuve was nearly non-existent, relegated to DH and having the odd hit here and there. A shell of the 2017 AL MVP because of the injuries. Correa was also clearly struggling, though better off than Altuve with some occasional hits and the HR against Cleveland. Let's not forget McCullers and Morton were hurt as well. But if we have Altuve and Correa at close to 90%, the offense is different and it's a different series because all these games were very winnable despite some of our aces coughing up some runs. Just imagine how good this team could be if everyone's healthy next year, with the way Bregs has shown up and become a serious MVP candidate after Altuve already won it last year! Just PLEASE get a better catcher.
