So I got an email that initially had me stoked because it displayed that I would get a $50 credit from Wells Fargo for completing a survey.

However, it seemed ridiculously fishy from the start
    Code:
    From: *** Wells Fargo *** <tmcfsb@tamu.edu>
Subject: *** $50 will be credited to you *** EWSPHCEJQM

    Reply-To: [email]tmcfsb@tamu.edu[/email]

If you click a link, it takes you to a page with a few questions but then asks for all of your details, like social, credit card number, pin etc.

If this were the real deal Wells Fargo wouldn't need to have those details as they already have that ish on file. Plus the tamu.edu email is a dead giveaway. Aggies trying to resort to identity theft.

I'd like at least one of these emails one day to have precise grammar and punctuation. The spelling has been getting better though, I'll give them that. You wouldn't capitalize 'bank' in this instance, also the subject line is a dead giveaway. To think they have the intelligence to set up a site like that but lack it in the bait part of their scam.

I get that on my Safari too, but when I first opened it up on my iPhone there was no such message.

Seriously I've been getting emails like this for weeks, and I don't even have a wells fargo account. Honestly, with all the fishing scams out there I'd rather miss an oppurtunity at $50 here and there to preserve my safety.

Century Club member= alumni I believe.

Anyways, just because the email says tamu.edu doesn't mean its an A&M student doing it. Could be someone stole their info and there using it to send it out. Highly doubt a student would be dumb enough to do this through their .edu email, I imagine he/she could get in trouble with the school.

An Aggie does not lie, cheat, or steal. Since this is coming from a tamu.edu e-mail address, whoever is sending these messages could get into serious trouble with the University.
