don't see the reason for this thread. westbrook isn't going anywhere. top level talent obviously but guys like paul george are much better fits for this team.
You know I really enjoy the new board overall but its stuff like this that makes me miss getting to rate threads. A big ole one star would be coming from me right now.
Yea.... NO. Westbrook sucks and isn't a team player. You don't win rings being an egomaniac ball hog. He will rot in OKC until his athleticism is gone and then will finally realize he isn't all that and go ride some other superstars coat tail to a ring if he is lucky.
As enjoyable as a sweep would be, it's not likely. I don't hate Westbrook, but I don't like him. He probably would not fit here either. I went to the rally\parade for Scotty Pimpin, we all know how that worked out. I was skeptical about R Artest & Jason Terry, they were helpful. I really had a hard time keeping an open mind about McHale, I HATED him as a player for the Celts. However if R Westbrook could help us get to the top again I would be good with that. Rockets #1. RedNation Forever.
He has the energy and motor to get anywhere he wants on the court. I'm not saying he should be jacking up 3s all game, or long-2s-that-might-as-well-be-3s, but he can use his energy/motor and athleticism to screw up defensive schemes in cutting to the basket or shedding his defender. Although inconsistent, his mid-range jumper is good (when it's on).
I like Westbrook! But you asked us to consider it, OP and we have. It sounds like a terrible idea, but if Westbrook wants to come here, I sign him. I prefer Giannis though
Are we just going to ignore the fact that op thinks 2-0 = sweep? I wonder what T-Mac think thinks about that proclamation?
Westbrook, Lebron, Matt Barnes, and Draymond. These are absolutely the last guys I would ever want to join the Houston Rockets (for various reasons)
I was and actually have been pushing for this to happen this whole year. Westbrook isn't a PG and never played PG until he got to the NBA. Harden has been a PG and primary ball handler since he was in HS. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this happened.
It would be difficult, great example with Bron and D-Wade. This could have been the reason behind trading Harden and keeping the core of Ibaka, Durant, and Westbrook in tact for the past 3 years. They will both have to learn to play off of each other instead of dominating the ball which will result in taking even more time for them to catch their rhythm in game. I will say that no matter what if you have two elite level players (three is even better ala Boston, GSW, Miami, San Antonio teams in their days) it will most likely result in multiple Finals appearances like the Thunder Heat and Spurs have done in the recent past.
