    Yeah I saw this earlier...

At this point, if his open to the idea of resigning, then I think Denver its going to keep him and try and see if they can make one last run in the playoffs to convince him to stay..

Its certainly better than any package they would be receiving for him anyways.

If this is true, all he did was lower his chances of being traded this season. Could that be what he wants?

Sounds like Melo is putting the pressure on the Knicks to deal for him now, instead of hoping they can get him for free this summer as a free agent.

if melo is truly set on NY. waiting until free agency, knicks possibly save millions, and don't lose any assets.

the pressure to work a trade is on the nuggets and melo's agency.

Who cares anymore? I hate this control the players are having over the league and having their demands met. BOO

I'm not buying it. Just using every little bit of leverage he has.

It looks like he's blinking at first, but in reality I think he is either trying to (1) encourage the Knicks to increase their offer now or (2) more likely, discourage other teams and Nuggets from trading him before the deadline (in the theory that if he eventually rejects the nuggets' offer they will ultimately do a sign and trade to get something).

Nice move by Melo. He has been playing the game to get what he wants in the end. I can't wait for the 24th when all will be done finally.

LOL! Idiots. Thats what he tells you. Like I said he would do. Around trade deadline he changes his tune to stall their plans. He plays rest of year leaves them for practically nothing to Knicks. So he doesnt cripple his future team of preference in a trade. Right on schedule.

It could be something that Denver suggested he say, knowing they don't really have a shot at him staying (although bad PR move for their fans when he doesn't stay). But, probably just like you guys are saying, it increases the chances of him getting traded now to the Knicks, instead of free agency where he possibly loses millions.

    Melo is a Diva
I think he is putting this out in order to not be traded where he doesnt want to go on a RENTAL basis. He makes statements like this one and others like not knowing the status of trade talks which is crap if I am looking all this up on the internet I would think He and his agents are aware of all rumors and more.
